They don't look outclassed to me. They look overwhelmed by the moment. They need to stop thinking so much and just pour forward and give it a go. This is ridiculous. And oh, get freaking Hendry Thomas off the field. He can't complete 5 yard passes in this game and he is begging for a red card.
The USSF recommends 4 D's to teh ref, all have to be present for DOGSO. Distance to goal Distance to ball Defender number Direction of ball (going towards goal) That last one wasn't present so no DOGSO
Here are Law 12 criteria for DOGSO: Referees should consider the following circumstances when deciding whether to send off a player for denying a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity: • the distance between the offence and the goal • the likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball • the direction of the play • the location and number of defenders • the offence which denies an opponent an obvious goalscoring opportunity may be an offence that incurs a direct free kick or an indirect free kick
If Colorado can't calm the game and get themselves under control, I'm thinking they're likely to go down to 10 men
Agree with those that are saying Colorado is playing nervous and overwhelmed. Who is this team? Someone needs to be a leader and step up, they just look freaked out.
I will have to watch a replay later - I thought it was moving away from Seattle's goal toward Colorado's goal. Mind you, I am not arguing the yellow, etc just trying to understand the rules
Matthew Doyle @MLS_Analyst7m Edson for Atiba, push Torres wide. Pin back the Sounders fullbacks and strand the midfield. Only real hope for Rapdis, I'd say.
Overlooked in the general ineptitude of the Colorado attack is how vulnerable Gspurning has been. Looks like the guy who was benched recently.
Dempsey pushed it to the outside of Irwin so it was heading towards the corner flag, not the goal. And I'll argue the yellow, given that Yedlin didn't get one for the same obstruction of Thomas in the first half.
