I am surprised that no one has made a thread for this.

Well I for one would like it if Pekerman used all of our best players in one starting line-up just for the sake of pride if we don't automatically qualify tonight (with Uruguay not winning against Peru right now).

F no to Teo or Zapata they get retarded reds. No to Falcao or Cuadeado as they will get their legs broken

    -------------Ospina-------------
    Zuniga---Yepes --- Valdez----Armero
    -------Meija--------Guarin------
    Quintero------------JameS
    ------Jackson-----Bacca

Have guys who are calm and will play counter. Uruguay is going to hit and play dirty.we need a team of strong tall players who aren't easily provoked.

Defiantly no Teo and Zapata not until the Paraguay game.

With the way Uruguay has been playing as of late this game is going to be extremely difficult. I'd love to see at least a draw while avoiding injuries at all costs. This is the kind of game where I feel our Sanchez/Aguilar combo will have the most trouble to stamp their influence. I'm intrigued to see who starts in the centre of the defense. I think Zuniga goes LB and possibly we play Cuadrado/Zapata as our RB.

The lineup we had against Argentina is the one I would start.
I think it is good enough to get a 0-0. Possibly more if we can be more efficient with our chances.

We've never faced Holland and we've only faced Belgium once in 1998 in a 2-0 lost.

Are you guys kidding? Yes, their results have been A+ in their last matches (very typical of the 'garra charrua') but I've watched their last 3 matches and they are NO Barca. What they are as a team is a very organized, disciplined and tactical team with a KEY player (Suarez) who exposes every defender's weakness. Almost sounds like our team at the moment ;)

I would worry much more about our defenders Perea and Yepes than our forwards. Crazy has obviously never played futbol in the heavy rain ;)

Uruguay has received tonnes of goals. Only 2 games out of 13 have they kept a clean sheet. And now 2 CB's are suspended, which may or may not be a good thing considering their already poor record. I hope guarin will start instead of mac.

Personally I'd like Uruguay to qualify directly and have ecuador play the repechaje, (I just can't picture a WC without suarez/cavani/forlan) but I don't want it to happen on the expense of Colombia.

haha man I play'd soccer my whole life since I was 4 my parents had me in club teams :) and I even coached/refed soccer games. I am more worried about our defenders than anything. I almost would like to see Perea and Yepes do something so bad they never get called up again but I want us to win.

Most important thing is Uruguay is a team of 11 thugs. We need to make sure our guys don't get injured or did you not see the little beauty mark they left Guerrero?

My changes for next game if I were Pekerman
CB - Yepes (captain he is coming back)
CB - Zapata/Mosquera for Valdez who can't play
RB - Perea does not attack for Armero who can't play
LB - Zuniga does Attack (plays this at Napoli)
RM - Cuadrado helps in defense but mostly attacking. Change for Macnelly
    CF - Bacca for Teo
    CF - Jackson for Falcao

So 2 changes because he has to (Yepes/and the other CB). 2 tactical changes (Cuadrado/Bacca). Think those 5 changes are pretty much a given.

Perea as a defensive RB is not bad at all and 3 in the back will help a ton against Suarez + Cavani. I think Medina is a much better RB but this game is too much to get his 1st cap with as a starter. Would be good 2nd half Change.

Only thing I think we need that people will not agree with is Jackson for Falcao. Look Falcao is hurt and wasn't running. His 60% game did win us the game but it's not going to work in Uruguay. We need a guy who can run and can get hit.

Going to be very difficult match, but I'm more worry about Uruguay's toughness which is usually worth some red cards but danger our players a lot, for those of you who saw their matches vs. Peru. I would try two formations:

First, our regular 4-2-2-2, only that we have problem in our RB position. I'm not confident enough to put Perea there, but on the other hand, Cuadradu, who used to be RB is now plays more of a RM and intend to leave his position very often, which can cause us troubles

    --------------------Ospina-----------------

    Perea-----Zapata-------Yepes-------Zuñiga

    ----------------Mejia------Sanchez--------

    ----------Guarin-----------------James---

    ----------------Teo-------------------------

    -----------------------Falcao---------------

since we only need one point and Uruguay most probably will put pressur on us, we can play like Nacional plays, with 3 in the back and two speedy wingers like Cuadrado and Zuñiga who can leave their positions more freely and join the attack, so we basically will play with 5 midfielders.

    for example:

    --------------------Ospina--------------------

    -----Perea--------Zapata----------Yepes----

    Cuadrado--------------------------------Zuñiga

    --------------Mejia------Sanchez------------

    --------------------James--------------------

    -------------Teofilo-----------Falcao--------

    OSPINA

    VALDEZ - YEPES - ZAPATA - - ZUNIGA

    --------ABEL ------SANCHEZ

    GUARIN --------------------------JAMES

    ---JACKSON ------------FALCAO

What I am worried about is the lethal counterattacks than can belaunched to their fowards, specifically Suarez. With the likelihood we will be in control of possession and playing higher than normal I feel our midfield can be easily bypassed due to the quick movement of the ball up front to the Uruguay forwards. This is where Abel and Sanchez need to be smart in their positioning and reading of the game. I feel we can definitely win this but it is never ever easy in Uruguay.
