Not so sure about the play-by-play guy they used for Liverpool x Man Utd. A bit like an English Gus Johnson. What's this obsession American channels have with using their own announcers?
NBCU doesn't actually own Universal Sports. They aren't going to give them games without InterMedia Partners coughing up so dough.
Of course Comcast is a cable company, so I suppose they are putting games on Mun2 to entice more subscribers; Telemundo is free over the air in many markets
Yes, they are playing that game. Would be nice if those matches were in HD. Would be an easier pill to swallow.
I'm guessing it's multi-faceted: 1) The casual fans can understand the accents and don't get confused should the announcer use words they're not familiar with. 2) The announcers can promote upcoming programming during downtimes in action. "Stay tuned for ______, and later this week, don't forget to check out ____. Set your DVRs now for __________." 3) Something else business-related I'm probably forgetting.
Hah. Your attempt a helpful post is to tell me to filter through 1200+ posts to try to figure it out myself rather than just summarize? Thank you very much
NBC Sports Premier League Extra Time = actual TV channels, or for you most likely an On Demand offering with live coverage of matches not on NBCSN or NBC. Go to On Demand, navigate through Sports > Premier League (something like that) NBC Sports Live Extra = streaming site that offers all Premier League matches regardless of channel they appear on. http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra/
Thanks, THAT is very helpful. Whats the story with Champions League games with the demise of Fox Soccer Channel - will they be on Fox 1 or elsewhere? Streaming somewhere?
^ Right. Also your FOX regional station. So they should be able to handle 4 CL games concurrently (as they did last week during the last qualifying round)
Another complaint about NBC's coverage. Last night settled in hoping to catch a few of the games I missed (extended highlights not full matches like on FSC) showed Manchester United/Liverpool Arsenal/Tottenham. Ok. Seen both of those didn't watch. Got up early this morning saw some more extended highlights were available. Thought I would watch before my day. Manchester United/Liverpool and Arsenal/Tottenham - again. Maybe they were the only four teams that played last week. FSC would have replayed (the whole game) but chosen other full matches to watch.
FSC also always listed in the TV guide which games would be on. On DirectTV a lot of times you can't figure out which games are shown since they do not list the team names! On Monday afternoon at 3pm it said a 'live' EPL game would be shown (I thought it would be a 'regular' Monday night EPL game); instead it was one of the Sunday games they showed. Hopefully this will improve big time!
Ideally in the future all matches will be available on Demand by all the providers. That would help things out big time.
Okay, we get it, you like replays. You've said it over and over again. It's not 'another complaint', it's the same complaint, and it's a petty one. Once again...if you want to watch every game, buy a DirecTV genie and record every one.
Instead of non stop constant whining and bitching why not just fix your problem? Would that not make more sense?
It's hilarious. Palace-Sunderland was broadcast over the air on NBC this past weekend. Palace. Sunderland. To 350 million Americans via the network that has broadcast the Olympics, Super Bowls, The Cosby Show, etc. Yet some people complain that Norwich-Southampton can't be seen at 7am four days later. I swear if you handed some American soccer fans a winning Power Ball ticket they'd complain it gave them a paper cut.
NBC Live Extra App was updated for iOS. You can now Airplay the games to your Apple TV. It is a little bit of a clunky implementation but it works!!
Do you see ever NFL fans complaining that they can't see every game? MLB? NHL? I don't get why the Prem should be any different? Oh, right, because a niche channel used to have the rights and it needed filler programming that got 0.0 ratings every damn day!
