Gotta give it to them there. They seem to be owning Holland when it comes to offense.

I remember that moment of the picture, it was when MB went back to give a "5" to AJ after Altidore score from MB's final pass. It was AJ who started the sequence when he took MB's pass and one touched it to Sacha who one touched it as he was falling to MB. If you get the recognition from MB then you are doing ok in his eyes.

AZ's Europa league game was suspended today in the 59th minute after someone lit the roof on fire? Apparently they took this song too literally.

It will be continued tomorrow behind closed doors.

AZ made it to the group stage. Their group:

    AZ
    PAOK
    Maccabi Haifa
    Shakhter Karagandy

It's a decent draw that gives AZ a fair chance to progress, but the travel involved will be brutal. Israel, Kazakhstan and Greece on a Thursday night...ouch

Ah, the European sense of distance. Even the flight from Amsterdam to Astana is about the same distance as a flight from one US coast to the other. I hope this doesn't bother Johannsson too much -- flying to places like Honduras and Trinidad & Tobago will be much more grueling.

Wonder if AZ will allow the sheep sacrifice prior to the Karagandy game.

The issue isn't so much distance but time. Most teams fly back the same evening after an away game. Those 3+ hour flights on Thursday nights will prevent much practice on Fridays, so match preparation for the Sunday league game is reduced to one day. Unless a team can rotate much of it's squad, chances are league results will suffer.

Clubs who have a decent shot at qualifying for the CL often sacrifice their EL campaign.

Hell no! That's a death wish ;). It clearly didn't help them progress, despite a 2-0 cushion, on my Bhoys! :D

They didn't get to do the sacrifice in Scotland, that's why they lost ;)

Stupidity on Karagandy's part. It's not like they couldn't find a sheep in Scotland since there are probably more sheep than people. I'm sure they could have found a Rangers fed sheep to try and "curse" the Bhoys. But then again those Rangers owned sheep aren't worth shit even for a scarifice! ;)

I mean seriously... How did Rangers fans not team up with Karagandy supporters to sacrifice the sheep?

Easy answer. Rangers' sheep are also languishing in the 3rd division and were probably deemed shit even for a measly scarifice by Karagandy supporters.

What's the difference between the Rolling Stones and a sceptic fan? The Rolling Stones sing "Hey you, get offa my cloud." The sceptic fan tells his brother - "Hey McCloud, get offa my ewe!"

    I kill me!

Love it! I got two for you.

    Why do Scots were kilts?

Because the sheep can hear a zipper a mile away.

What do you call a guy standing on the corner in Inverness with two sheeps under his arms??

    A pimp.

(All told by my Scottish grandfather)

Can Karagandy play in their home stadium for Europa League? And I think this is the type of side that Jóhannsson can take advantage of. Once Celtic realized that they're there to be taken advantage of on the dribble (they're ********ing huge - must be 6'3" average, their defenders are 6'5" each) it was pretty easy pickings. Why we decided to bypass the midfield in the first leg and play their game I'm still struggling to understand.
