Has anyone heard about the release date for Upper Deck MLS 2012? I'm guessing that the demise of WPS and the back-and-forth of Brian Ching created some production headaches for U.D. this year.

Upper Deck create their own headaches. I advised against putting the WPS into the MLS sets for two years - did they listen ? I can only imagine the disappointment of collectors who wanted to score an MLS autograph or jersey card only to pull a WPS memorabilia card.

MLS has a new marketing head person. It may be time to offer new licensing to a different card maker. Panini America seems to be hesitant (focusing on basketball and American football) and Topps' cash cow is baseball cards.

I would like to see a company like InTheGame (Canada) do what they produce for hockey. Perhaps a petition and media campaign to do so might shed light on the lack of quality MLS trading cards.

The overseas and international brand of FUTERA are far and away the best. But it is a slim chance in the frozen arctic to hope they would produce MLS cards ... one can only hope.

Thanks for the link and info. Good that Brian Ching will be in Dynamo orange, not Impact blue, but Charlie Davis? The Sochaux return deal was done back in early December. And I think there was a Robbie Keane card in the Upper Deck 2011 World of Sports set so this is technically not his first.

The May release gives me an extra month to save my pennies.

According to (at least) 2 different sites, the release date for 2012 MLS Upper Deck has been pushed back from May 22 to June 26.

The same two sources mentioned in my April 30 post have now pushed the Upper Deck MLS 2012 release date back to July 10.

If anyone has any official soccer autographs (anything such as Topps, Upper Deck, etc), or nice multicolored jersey cards for sell let me know. Any player, any team. I am also looking for any San Jose Earthquakes cards, and especially those MLS 2011 SP Game Used Supreme Jerseys #/15.

    PM works best.

I haven't opened any boxes since I was a junior in HS (only 4 years ago). I guess thats what happens when you get a cat, move out, etc.

My redemption cards arrived this week. Alessandro Nesta and Tim Cahill, rookies Bryan Gaul and Felipe Martins. Is this pretty much what you're all getting?

The new Upper Deck All Time Greats has Landon Donovan as one of the athletes featured in the product. If only it featured him in a USMNT kit, the cards would be worth much more.

Do we need an Upper Deck 2013 thread, or just stick with this one? As Ventur514 said in the spring of 2011,

I say we just use this one. There are only a few of us that use this thread anyway. By the way, did you ever come up with any extra Ray Gaddis cards from the update?

Works for me. And yes, I did get that card. I thought I sent you a private message, but I'm not too good at all the Big Soccer stuff. I'd be happy to trade it.

Well, it's March...time to start watching for the 2013 Upper Deck release date. Nothing yet on the SportsCardRadio.com release schedule. Please post if anyone hears anything.

I agree with the Futera suggestion. Their Unique collection is due to come out soon. I'm not sure why they don't try for the MLS, perhaps because it's American?

I am living in Thailand and I often encounter people who look down on the MLS and have some sort of "football superiority complex", especially from Europeans. Perhaps it's somewhat the same thing?
