I thought this was a good sign; I have bought several MLS jerseys at Ross, and I was wearing the NYRB one into a pub in OKC last week. As soon as I walked in, a random girl looked at me and said "Red Bull? Boooo!. Go Timbers!"
I was at the campus of Suffolk County Community College yesterday and I saw a guy with a Houston Dynamo shirt
My favorite organic Bread now comes with Sounders player cards inside the package. They are pretty high quality as far as printing and paper.
Saw someone at the dynamo game wearing a San Jose Clash jersey.. but he was also wearing a Dynamo hard hat. :/
Same thing respectively in Portland. Reminds me of the same trading cards from the same bread maker when they ran Trailblazer cards.
Walking past the Buchanan Street bus station in Glasgow......saw a guy wearing a Whitecaps jacket.....said hello, turns out he is a coach in their youth setup.
I am ready to declare the Whitecaps as "Scotland's MLS team".......walking the Royal Mile (Edinburgh) on Thursday and saw another VCR shirt.....that can't be a coincidence!
i didnt notice the logo on the side until now. i kept mistaking them for phoeix city fc, which is some academy team in england.
Becky is at the Gold Medal Basketball game and is supposed to be at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games. Good thing he doesn't have a game tonight.
So all was well and good in Pullman re MLS sightings this week until this evening. I saw a couple of Sounders window clings on cars in town, and one new freshman in Moscow in a Sounders jersey. But driving home tonight I found myself behind a car with Colorado plates, Rapids cling (with championship star) proudly displayed next to the rear plate. Cool - never seen anyone with a Rapids anything here, so I decided to follow what looked like a family of three dropping a child off at WSU to greet them and maybe chat about MLS. And they turned here, and there, and then there - and I think I became a stalker, and they sped away. Jasonma - if you hear of a stalker in your forum, please tell them it was innocent! Family had a Coug Dad sticker on the car too.
In tonight's episode of Suits on the USA Channel, BMO Field was in the background in one of the scenes. The scene involved a lawyer confronting a baseball player outside of the stadium when he was leaving a practice. The scene didn't have anything to do with soccer, but I thought it was cool anyways. I guess they film that show in Toronto then
Suits is filmed in Toronto, has some Canadians in its cast and airs here on Bravo which is owned by Bell.......likey has enough Canadian content (in production and cast) to meet some of their Cancon requirements. Funny that they would have BMO Field pretend to be a baseball stadium when there is a baseball stadium just down the road....of course it is hard to film Rogers Centre without showing the word "Rogers" and they are Bell's main competitor!
...and the other issue with using Rogers Centre is it's a widely recognizable Toronto landmark. Which is a problem, if the show is supposed to take place in NYC.
A DC United jersey is featured in the trailer for 'Playing for Keeps', although they don't show the actual DC United crest or the Volkswagen jersey sponsor.
