Lichaj keeps his place on the left from looking at the lineup as Villa find themselves dragged into the relegation fight. Game is just underway on Fox Soccer Plus.

    Guzan is on the bench.

Lichaj has played well, but this has been the scrappiest of the scrappy derby affairs so far. 0-0.

A critical point for the Villains today. At this point in the season, they are like gold nuggets.

Lichaj's only bad defensive moment I saw was a late chance where Odemwingie got past him, but the center backs forced him out.

All the contempt Villa fans hold towards Hutton was completely justified today. Awful defensively, awful going forward and stopped a shot with a fully stretched elbow that Given probably had anyways.

On the other hand, Given deserves praise as he saved the match with a brilliant save at the beginning of injury time.

I thought Lichaj actually had his worst game for us since returning from injuries. Not to say he was bad, he was mostly solid but there were a few shaky moments. Lucky for him the rest of our defense continues to make him look good.

As you point out, Hutton is absolute dogshit. This was a normal game for him though, he certainly has had worse over the course of the season.

We had some good chances but I thought we were very lucky to escape with a point. That save by Given was one of the saves of the season IMO
