You're welcome Northbank. I was amazed with the article. It is one of the best articles I have ever read about Arsenal. Glad to see there are some good Arsenal articles in the sea of ManUre and others. And thank you for the good info Northbank!
LOL that's fantastic. I definitely noticed that when I watched the game live, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me and had to do a double take.
Such a wanker that guy! Didn't bet on him for next goalscorer against Liverpool, so reformed my ways, went RVP 1st goal against Milan....nope...he'll definitely get the second...nope...******** that guy, i ain't wasting no more money. Penalty goes in, shit. Right last bet, sort me out RVP i've stuck a tenner on you boy, ball breaks to RVP, chips it to Abbiati. That my friends, was the day my betting career died.
Isnot it odd that with the two best strikers in the world, Messi and Robin van Persie, neither the Argentinian nor the Orange team have any clue about making the best use of them, putting both in a drought for their national team. It is impossible that they can do their magic for the clubs and not for the Nat teams. The teams must be the culprits. Any ideas how to solve it for Robin?
Robin is too much of a team player for the Oranje, IMO. Wes and Robben are the exact opposite and they take advantage of robin's selfless play.
Yep, Robben and Wes are super selfish I don't rate us going far this summer with those two eventhough I love them as club players, for the NT they simply dont function as they should
We'll see what happens with Robin at this summer's Euros -- they can't deny him a feature role now. He's spent most of his time with the Dutch as a wing player. And in WC10 we saw how he got about zero passes from Sneijder. Hopefully that will change this summer -- van Marwijk has to run things through him now.
Nice clips. Do you know the stories behind those? OK I do recall some bad blood from our Ajax tie being mentioned b4 we signed Verm. But what's that with Robin going after Manny's pecker??
The Robin-Manny thing is from the 2004 (or maybe 2005) season in review DVD. It's Robin messing with Almunia when they're about to take the team photo for the season.
Also, do you guys think that going to Spain will be problematic for RVP since I don't think he can't Spanish. Plus, his family is so used to speaking English that it might be difficult for RVP.
this us an underrated aspect here he has a growing family and is settled and happy. That could lead to him not wanting to leave London.
A couple of amazing numbers from RVP's season : - Today during the ASL-N'Castle game : Clearance By Robin van Persie. That's his 109th headed clearance of the season. That's three more than Liverpool IN TOTAL. - The Dutch master has now scored the same number of goals on his own as the wretched Liverpool have scored in the PL. What an amazing man.
he is the reason why we defend corner kicks better. He is usually on the near post and clears the ball, with good trajectory, out the area. we are among the league leaders in least goals conceded from CKs
That isn't right. In all comp's he's scored more than LOLerpool has scored in the Prem. In the league he's scored 26 to their 30. Still, he's the truth.
Yeap. He has an excellent understanding of the ball trajectory. He is also a student of the game and knows his adversaries tendencies. PS. Great article in the Guardian from Amy Lawrence about RVP, the Captain. Robin van Persie proves to be a captain fantastic in the Vieira mould Arsène Wenger's decision to hand the striker the armband has given Arsenal the kind of leadership not seen since 2005. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/mar/13/robin-van-persie-captain
