Bit shocked to see Dunn at left back. He was needed in midfield. The windy conditions are a bit of a joke unfortunately.

    As promised, although I think I was playing it down a bit above;

    1 hour, U9-U11 - Cats 1, 2 and 3. Not 4.
    1.5 hours, U12-U16 - Cats 1, 2 and 3. Not 4.
Nationwide, U12-16 - Category 1 ONLY. Limited to U15 and U16 until the end of the 12/13 season, then down to U12s onwards.
    Nationwide, U17-21 - All categories

So as we know, Cat 4 clubs can't get players until they're 16, which is about right considering the state of things if you're Cat 4.

It wasn't a very successful debut for Ibe - didn't get much of a look in - and was another very poor game that would have ended as a dire 0-0 but for a deflection. Morgan struggled again.

I see Brown scored a hat-trick for Arsenal u16s against Norwich (3-1) - Akpom started in the u18s 1-0 win.

What about James Ward-Prowse. Second game for Saints first team and scored his first professional goal having just turned 17. Things are looking good for him. Luke Shaw was on the bench and Jack Stephens came on too. Despite not having these three class acts the Southampton U18s took Crystal Palace apart winning 5-0 on Saturday morning. Their fourth clean sheet in a row. Scorers were Jake Sinclair (Scott's) brother, Chambers, Moore(2) and Curtis. McQueen had a cracking shot that hit the bar from 20+ yards and he was all over the right back crossing for fun. The back four for Saints were solid even without Shaw and Stephens, especially Turnbull and Mugabi. Things are looking good for that FA Cup match v Bolton on Weds.

Yeah, generally against the run of play although they had a strong 20 min spell in the second half. Won it in stoppage time through an indirect free kick after a backpass.

Chelsea should've been 5/6 up by the break.

Akpom started again, looks like hes made himself a regular for u18s. Next its time for jebb to get back in the team and show some of the foreign boys how its done ;)

btw it looks like chelsea are 3 points behind arsenal, now challenging for the title after that bad start

We've been playing midfielders at LB for most of the season unfortunately. Jack Robinson is with the first team, Brad Smith is with the reserves and Tom King has been injured. Lussey, Dunn and Pelosi have all played there which weakens our midfield as they're 3 of the better players in the squad.

I'm surprised we haven't moved Alex O'Hanlon up from the u16s, he's meant to be brilliant.

Eh? Looking at http://uk.soccerway.com/national/england/premier-academy-league/2011-2012/regular-season/group-a/ Fulham are second and Southampton at 3 PTS behind Arsenal with a game in hand. Chelsea are back in 7th.

Spurs, Southampton and West Ham are through to the next round of the FA Youth Cup. Norwich v Chelsea is into extra-time.

Fanimo, Elliot Lee and Rob Hall x 2 for West Ham. Jake Sinclair scored for Southampton.

Chelsea were very poor (they could have played till midnight and wouldn't have scored :() - but through 4-2 on pens.

But thank God for that - with it being WH next up.

Not sure the Chelsea front 3 are suited to a 4-3-3. Piazon and Affane lack the pace for the flanks and Feruz is a bit on the small side as the spearhead.

What did you make of Swift? Really elegant footballer. Injuries permitting, think we have a player there.

He did OK in the two cup games - but didn't see as much of the ball as one might expect, which of course doesn't help. But he certainly wasn't as anonymous as McEachran was in his first two youth cup starts. :)

Liverpools left back Tom King has now joined Stoke, although it looks like he's is 2nd choice behind Michael Clarkson who has been in their Europa Cup squads this year.

On another note I see that Arsenals Jeffrey Monkana is now at QPR, he was on their bench when they beat Everton in the 4th round FA youth cup - QPR now have a few players released before the end of their scholarships with other london clubs i.e Freddie Champion (Spurs) and Calum Webb (Arsenal)

The FA will show 6 FA Youth Cup games on ITV4. Interesting.

And quite right too. Do we know what rounds and the like? The Semis and final are two legs so that would account for 6 games if that's it..
