Game just finished. Palestine won 1-0 thanks to Ali El-Khatib's goal in the 67th minute, the back-up keeper Abdullah Saidawi saved a penalty in the 30th minute.

Don't act surprised :p - Palestine pulled a 2-0 result in Manama in 2006- just months after the intercontinental playoff vs. T&T.

Both matches we play away. Our coach said that in both matches we may go with our Olympic team. let's see what happens.

Dont make sense to play a Olympic qualifier away against Iraq on 22. February and then playing Thailand two days later with the same team

u right, didn't think about it! but definitely we will not play with our A team against Tailand. Since this match will be preparation for the match with Japan, and we know that 6 players will miss this match because of 2 yellow cards, and also our foreigners from Russia and Ukraine will not come too said our coach.

I just wish that Saudi Arabia arrange some good friendly matches before the Game against Australia as Malaysia is not as strong as Australia and it will be useless to play against Malaysia and win by some 1 to 2 goals margin and then play Mighty Australia (No offense to Malaysia) who are more powerful among all the asian teams ...

Saudi Should arrange some friendly matches against the teams that are equal to Australian style of play e.g., Rep. of Ireland, England, Scotland, etc. But before playing Australia on 29 Feb 2012 !!!

None of those teams would play on a non FIFA match date and there is no FIFA match dates before 29 Feb

What I'm agreeing with is that Hammad has noticed what the guys who work at the FA's should notice. Play friendlies against teams who play in a similiar style to the team(s) you play in the qualification matches.

Malaysia would have been a good choice before the Thailand game. Using Malaysia as a prep match for Australia means nothing. It's just a match. The best thing to hope is to win soundly and get a lot of confidence.

Between now and Feb of course they're no FIFA match dates, so FA's should be looking longer term. For example Swedend host England next November, thats 11 months away, but thats why these nations are more succesful than the average Asian nation, simply because they prepare. The KSA-Malaysia game just seems more like Muslim brother hood than anything to do with planning for the future.
