    I almost forgot about him.

He is actually earning quite a bit of praise. He didn't have much to do but he organized the defense better than Given does. It looks like Guzan will be getting quite a few games in the near future.

Good for Brad. He played well at Hull by all reports. I know Given is quality, but Brad never even got a fair shot to play, IMHO.

    Hopefully, Brad takes advantage.

Which reports? The ones I recall with respect to his tenure at Hull were that he did nothing more than a serviceable job while also committing a couple memorable blunders.

You didn't read much then. Guzan wasn't amazing but he was solid for Hull. He had maybe 2 blunders which was more than likely caused by lack of action in months. Guzan in my opinion is a borderline EPL/Championship keeper. He is such a good shot stopper but he has problems on corners and crosses. It looks likely that he'll get a run of games and hopefully he can show some other teams that he is still a good keeper.

I read plenty about his tenure at Hull. Almost certainly more than you. I didn't say he was poor at Hull, simply that those who are asserting that he performed "well" at Hull are overstating things a bit. I think you'll find that when his loan ended, Hull fans, while grateful for his service during a time of desperate need at the GK position, weren't terribly disappointed to see him leave.

I read more about his time at Hull than any other human. Hull fans liked him enough not to throw garbage at his car, but overall they would've preferred free gold bricks with each ticket purchase.

I've read the most about his tenure at Hull. I can literally recite match reports and player ratings in Shakespearean like prose.

I wrote the book and titled it "Brad Guzan's Time at Hull," but as you guys probably noticed, I didn't proofread it.

I made the "Brad Guzan's Time at Hull" app for the iphone but it is a little buggy and only got 2.5 stars.

    Ha, amateurs.

I filmed the documentary "Brad Guzan: Time at Hull". I followed him around with a camera for his entire time there. If it wasn't for the controlling megacorporations in the film industry I'm sure you would have seen it. Struggling independent filmmakers get no exposure. In a way, we're very similar to backup keepers.

I am Brad Guzan's Mom. My only qualification is that I love my baby.

Some of the Hull fans couldn't appreciate my son's passion, beautiful (hot) wife, receding hairline/carefully tended balding spot [correlation to skills as GK notwithstanding], PK shot blocking prowess, occasional gaffe, nor his ability to come off the bench and shut the entire game down.

For those attempting to lessen my son's impact during his time spent at Hull, a very small minority at that, stop it! Meanies!

Screw you guys- I didn't want to say anything. I'm Brad Guzan's father! You don't know how much I had to badger O'Neil into letting him go out on loan?! All I have to say is that if you don't play a Guzan, you get the axe. Of course my son sent me full email summaries of every game at Hull. Junior never said he made a bad play, so clearly he didn't. I helped him find the silver lining even on those moves in which the opposition scored.

Deep down I think some of Brad jr's. teammates at Hull were jealous of his unique starting position. I printed those summaries and Deeneaus layed them out in a scrap book, but she is not very erudite so...

Come on folks. Let's get some actual news. Any word on how long Given will be out?

    There's only one thing left...

I am actually Brad Guzan. I know the most about my time at Hull. And frankly, I was solid but unspectacular.

I'm GuzansAccent and I haven't fully adapted to England yet. If I have, it doesn't really come across in Brad's tweets...

    Not true.

I'm future Brad Guzan, I borrowed Freddy Adu's time machine* to go back into the past to see if I could change my career path at Hull. Unfortunately, due to the Grandfather Paradox I was only able to film a crappy documentary that I could not even get released straight to DVD. So, I will have to remain solid but unspectacular for my entire career.

    This is why we're divorced!

Don't think there are any actual news on Given just yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: Guzan sold to Aston Villa (Sideline Views no more? Loan to Hull)

    Good news for Brad

Scan results confirmed today that Shay Given suffered a small tear in his left hamstring in Saturday's Barclays Premier League game against Manchester United. The injury to the 35-year-old Villa and Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper will leave him sidelined for a month and American No.2 Brad Guzan will take his place for Saturday's game against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok.

Alex McLeish Villa's manager said "We have to meet these challenges and we will. We have total faith in Brad who, as I said after the game against Manchester United on Saturday, can be proud of the way he stepped in when Shay had to come off."

I am Brad Guzan's Hairline. Ignore the fact that I have no opposable thumbs or fingers to type this post. I wanted to point out that I am receding by the minute and will soon be gone from this world..... I regret nothing
