What exactly is Adams supposed to do apart from collapse on to the top of the box and show Figo one side? Absurd commentary and absolutely superb defending
So it's just over 50% of people think it is a deflection. Can the rest of you put your specs on and watch it again. It's a deflection.
Not mad at all. I just cannot get my head around the fact that people are saying it's not a deflection. I don't really want it to be a deflection either. But it is.
It's not clear on replay video. However, as I do play football so I know that Figo kicked with his palm foot and in order for the ball to go right (as his right foot went left) he needed to kick with half chop - and by doing so, the ball would be going "curled" to the right. But in this video the ball went kinda straight ... so it's a HINT that Figo meant to shoot straight but it got a slight deflect to defender ankle to aim RIGHT. Anyway ... so what eitehr case Figo deserved a goal ... and it was the case
You can't tell by that video, but it did deflect. I watched that game live on TV, and in slow motion you can see it deflecting right off his lower leg. Deflect or no deflect it was beautiful goal, I'll never forget it.
