As much as I'd like to see Gatt with Blackburn. I don't feel like Ole would bring him just yet. Let's hope Ole stays with Molde for another year.

Gatt went the distance for Molde today as they picked up a 1-0 away win against Fredrikstad.

The win puts them 9 points ahead of the second place duo of Tromsø and Brann, though Tromsø has 2 games in hand (one of which will be made tomorrow at home against 4th place Strømsgodset).

Is that looking like his future position?

Any idea why he is still playing there? Molde have a better RM or something?

It's a winning formula. They have a good record when he has played RB. (even when he has played poorly)

A more detailed answer would be that Ole seems to put Gatt at RB to match speed with speed if the other teams RM is that type of player.

Molde has had defensive issues all season, with different players being injured, unavailable, or out of form. Gatt has been playing there out of necessity.

I still find that kind of strange. As much as people have boasted of the coach rating him so highly, why doesn't he play him at his best position? Is his contribution on the offensive end of the game less than his defensive ability? There must be others who could fill in.........

Sometimes, a coach will just try to get all of his best players on the field at the same time. Maybe the manager feels that Gatt could fill that slot better than the other midfielders.

I think it also serves to show Gatt how important it is for the RM to get back defensively and help out the RB. He is only in his 2nd season as a pro and I wouldn't be surprised if he isnt up to speed on defending as an RM. His time at RB will help out a lot in that area and make him a more complete player.

Maybe you're right. In any case, does anyone know who his competition at right mid is? Is he out preforming Gatt when he start?

the coaches obligation is to win the game. Don't you remember those beer commercials?.

I'm not worried about this guy. I realize he has great qualities. Just wondering about his situation......

Molde are 7 points up with 6 matches left for them. Second place Tromso, which lost on Sunday, has seven matches left. Third place Rosenborg lost Sunday and are 10 points behind Molde with a game in hand.

Molde has a huge match Sunday, away to Tromso. A win will nearly lock up the title.

So would Gatt be the youngest American to playe EL/CL? Maybe Rossi in his Manu days?

He seems to be on that path.

Mix played in CL qualifiers at a younger age (18 or 19)

Thomas Delaney played in CL qualifiers when he was 17, if we want to get technical. I'm not 100% certain that he's American.

Mix made his debut in the CL qualifiers in the same round in 2009 at the age of about 18 years and 9 months.

Molde played Tromsø tonight, and won 0-2 away. Molde have a 10 point lead to Rosenborg and Tromsø, with 5 games left to play. Rosenborg have 6 games left.

It's certainly looking good for Molde now.

Josh played the full 90 minutes on right back, and played a very good match.
Should have had a goal though, when he came alone with Tromsøs goalie, but hesitated a second, so a defender got a tackle in. He contributed great to completely stop Tromsøs dangerous left side, and had many positive offensive contributions. :)

They play Odd Grenland (currently 6th), @Staebek (vs. Mix) (9th), Stromgodset (8th), Sarpsborg (16th), @Sogndal (14th). Odd Grenland has won at least five straight, so that might be tough, but the schedule looks favorable overall.
