I live off of Broadway here in Littleton, CO and we were just outside waiting for pieces of steel from the World Trade Centers to drive by (No idea why) when I met an off duty police officer wearing a Rapids t-shirt. Tried to get him to join our supporters group and he gave me a card. Maybe I can flash it the next time I get pulled over.
Oh and I will also say I saw someone wearing a Timbers jersey at the Primus / Flaming Lips concert at Red Rocks, Colorado last Wednesday.
Top this one. Was going to my gym in Mississauga, Ontario and a guy walked out with his daughter from the gymnastics place beside it with an orginal San Jose Clash Authentic Jersey. Boy that jersey is ugly.
Saw a Guy with an FC Dallas kit. He was on the bus headed for Seattle at a time coincidentally when many on the bus were headed the San Fransisco FC VS Sounders game with their ----- apparel on. You will see LA gear here and Earthquakes kits and Timbers bumper stickers but not many other teams, mater of fact I have yet to notice a Whitecaps kit...maybe if they have a winning season next year I will see some around these parts.
Watching First and Ten on ESPN yesterday and they were showing the Timbers Army reaction to a goal scored against LA.
Awesome! On a football show no less. I see you're a BvB fan as well. MLS might not have as many fans, but what they lack in numbers they make up for with support. I've never seen NFL fans do anything even close to what the Timbers Army (and other MLS supporter groups) do on a weekly basis.
Despite the name, it's actually not a football show. It's a segment on First Take (Cold Pizza) converted into a full-length 30-minute show rebroadcast later on espn where popular sports topics are "debated."
I suppose this fits here. Especially since Wale is now with MMG we'll be hearing more DC references on MMG songs.
Was in a sports store in Faneuil Hall in Boston yesterday and they actually had some Revs gear. The thing that really surprised me was that a guy came into the store and asked one the of the people working there if they had any Revs gear. The guys working didn't look surprised by the question at all and pointed to the gear. Very nice.
Was at Famous Dave's south of Nashville for dinner last night and three guys in soccer jerseys walked in (all in different parties) and one was an RSL jersey. I had taken my Sounders jersey off before going out or I'd have been the fourth. Preseason football was on TV but there were no football jerseys that I could see.
Jersey/shirt sighting score from night one of Pullman, WA's National Lentil Festival last night: Portland 2, Seattle 0.
Not sure if I've posted this before, but I saw a girl outside of a restaurant in the Richmond district in San Francisco wearing a KC Wizards scarf. She didn't strike me as a soccer fan, but who knows. She also didn't appear very hipster-ish, so I don't think she was wearing it for irony.
Was watching the local ABC news at 6 here in Birmingham, Alabama. In one of the stories about the MLK monument unveiling in DC they interviewed a business owner in Birmingham who was wearing a Chicago Fire t-shirt.
