Fuuuuck. I feel so lucky to have been one of the 93,000+ in attendance for this game. What an experience. By far the best sporting event I have ever attended. I lost my voice after Gio's goal. Beautiful stuff. Also, I really enjoyed reading this thread knowing what happened in the match. "Dos a cero it's over", "Fml Reynoso is coming on", "Gio can't finish".
Oh man today was epic!!! we won!! then i smashed on my white GF and as she lost the bet i had to give her the "money shot" if you all know what im talking about... lol
truth!! people dont understand how important these two are neither may be no xavi but they do what they are told to do been saying it from the beginning...dos contenciones que saben
Everyone was solid. I'm really starting to like Torres Nilo. Reynoso pwned their attackers. Talavera was solid.
love him or hate him... reynoso is and has been one of the most underrated cbs in mexico for years not saying he deserves to be a regular call up but give the ,man his props
honestly i know we won but i really dont see these 2 as good players for our team... the first U.S goal was castros fault he just left bradley run up with ease... the second gol the pass to donovan was made by dempsey right in front of the defensive line of 4 isnt that where the DM's are supposed to be? right in front of the defensive line?... and they had 3-4 good passes ill give them that and 2 let 2 goals in a way the pass from torrado to Gio for the fourth.. and Castro's to Gio and gios shot and rebound for the second.. but other than that they missed about 8 passes either to long or wrong i dont think thats a good ratio at all.... and as far as there so called dominance of the mid are we really giving them credit for this? they deserve part of it but i think most of the credit has to go Barrera,Gio and Guardado who absolutely dominated the flanks and once they did that it forced the Nads mid to go wide with them.. if Maza would have been there then Rafa would have taken one of their spots and come 2013 Jona is gonna take the other spot
OMG what an incredible game! i was lucky enough to be in attendance at the stadium and it was a hell of an atmosphere i kid you not, the people at the stadium was 90% Mexico fans and the rest were Nad supporters. and it's true about Nad fans - they are composed of A) central american/latinos with a HUGE identity crisis, and B) nerdy dumb looking white folks and soccer moms. losers pretty much all the way through i'll admit, me and my friends were in shock when the Nads went up 2-0 and decided that if they made a third goal to just go out and get drunk at the parking lot. glad that wasn't the case the team played well and showed a lot of heart and balls out there on the field. it was great watching them not lose their composure and keep playing their game. it's funny how the Spazzos love to brag about the Nads being a classy team but they are far from that. after we tied up the game the Nads resorted to dirty plays and hacking away at our players. classy? oh sure, pendejos Gio - what a goal!! this guy is definately our best player at the moment and needs to go to a club where they will give him a fair shot. F U Redknapp! i was worried when Reynoso came in to take Rafa's place. ask any other fellow Chiva fan on this board and they all know how much of a Reynoso hater i am. but i gotta give him credit for today's game because he was excellent. always on his mark and won just about every ball. hope he continues like that in the Copa America. Torres Nilo looked better than Salcido. i think it was a mistake to start Salcido but it was good that he got taken out early. despite that Chicharito didn't score the guy had an overall good game. his touch and passing is definately improving a lot. it was a great and well deserved victory cabrones! now off to the Gringo's Wall of Shame to get some laughs
Congrats to Mexico. Thoughts: I picked you guys to win this game but didn't think you would when we went up 2-0. Our "D" sucks but it was because of your offense. For years I've been hearing my Mexican friends say "just wait for the 05 team to grow up" well, it's here and not looking good for the US. We don't have anyone coming up that matches their level of play. This was a different Mexico team. They never looked flustered or had a "oh S***" moment after the US went up. If anything, they just attacked more and changed to a higher gear. I've always said that Mexico had the better individual and more skillful players but the US had the better team but that has changed in the last two years. Mexico is now a better team. The guys looked bigger and a hell of a lot faster than previous Mexico teams. Chicharito is the soon to be world class striker you've been looking for. Mexico has had great strikers(Borgetti) but I never thought of them as more than anything outside of a great Mexian league player who would struggle against top class international competition. I don't see that with Chicharito. Best striker in Concacaf. I expect you guys to dominate this rivalry for at least the next 5 years home/away/friendly/actual match All this will be for not if Mexico doesn't get past the last 16 next WC. I see that talent has the potential to be a major contender in 2014. As a neutral, would have liked to see a full strength Mexico at the Copa America. Again Congrats
Really pissed I missed the game was stuck at a wedding but thanks to my BigSoccer homies I was up to date, shit was hilarious my updates would spread like wildfire from table to table, saw the highlights great game it seemed Cheech didn't score but was instrumental great pass for the first and great awareness on Guardado's most strikers would have been selfish and got the goal called off,I'm very happy for Reinoso everybody always hates on him including fellow Chivas fans he proved everyone wrong must feel great for him,I've always said he's like the Mexican Puyol "a caveman but gets the job done" Oh and hopefully Gio catapults his career using this as a springboard
******** im out of reps lol sick ********ing game, normally i would be trying to go back to sleep being this hungover but I can't stop watching highlights haha
Im glad im not the only one doing it! ******** the hangover, just grabbed another beer and had a shot of Vodka. Vodkas your friend when you hungover/ So much rep to give in this thread when i have them
I watched part of the postgame ceremony on TV. It started out pretty much bilingual, but at some point, Fernando Fiore basically started drifting more into Spanish, especially when it was our turn to get medals and the trophy. I doubt very much that CONCACAF told Fiore to do this. My guess is that Fiore, a complete attention-loving ham who I happen to dislike, probably started to play for the crowd and got sucked in by the moment. I blame Fiore. CONCACAF's only fault was hiring him instead of, I don't know, Michael Buffer? Ryan Seacrest? From what I saw on TV, Dempsey was also visibly upset, and after getting his medal he looked like he was ready to pounce.
Yeah, he was, he wanted to get back into the dressing room. The team was celebrating their win and the US players were waiting for the ceremony. Dempsey looked at one of the CONCACAF officials and pointed to his wrist as if he was pointing at a watch. To the winners go the spoils is all I have to say. If it was reversed they'd be doing the same thing.
Somebody needs to remind these idiots that this is actually AN INTERNATIONAL CUP. It's not America's cup!
