Club has its faults, but to be fair, Kakuta's time at Fulham left little to be optimistic. He has to be loaned out this year again and show something more.

in terms of age they are probably more likely to count towards the homegrown rule a lot sooner than Josh. Eventually the club is going to be forced to make a decision in regards to the homegrown players as several of our current crop- JT, Ash, and Lamps- are at or over 30.

Moneyed interests will always (always!) win out in especially at institutions like UEFA/FIFA which are corrupt and opaque at their very core. Plus I have no doubt Roman et al could find a way through loopholes, backdoors, etc if worse came to worse.

No, its results like today at the Under 21s that have me worried. There will undoubtedbly be an outcry about national team progress, where are the english Messi's at, etc. It will get exponentially worse next summer when England leave the Euros relatively early (as I am positive they will) and the call for more English players and changes in the Prem will become deafening. We have a 6+5 rule now but I could see that pendulum swing to an extreme in the face of a public outcry and The FA flailing about trying to fix things. This could just be the reactionary in me and never come to pass but we shall see.

I dont see us moving about The Bridge until we sell it out on a more consistent basis. I cant see Roman spending that kind of money to see a stadium 3/4's full if that.

I suspect that will happen. Probably was not the best loan move for him and I hope they find a better fit.

With Bredan Rogers being up with Swansea- I would be very surpised if we did not loan them a player.

The shortcomings with the FA have more to do with the structure and management of the organisation than what is being put on the field imo

I think we do pretty well with the tickets mate- its just a case of getting people to go to the game. Several of the games are sell outs but the plods dont bother going. Like the other big London sides- Arsenal and Spurs- there is ample demand for tickets and while I dont think we need to be silly, I would expect that we could regularly fill a 50-55k stadium.

I think Danny stays with us tbh, although several clubs- Bolton and Newcastle among them-are very interesting in taking him. I suspect Josh, one of PVA/Bertrand and Kakuta will be the players to be sent out on Prem loans.

hopefully the transfer window will help fill that void

several of us have continuously bemoaned the lack of the 22-26 year old first team players at the club.

Kakuta needs another loan year, I'd like to see Josh be the player we loan to Swansea, think they just lost a cmf or perhaps Bolton; assuming we get a Modric or the like and Lamp healthy don't see Josh playing much for us this season, which does neither any good.

    Also has Josh signed yet?

You think so? Where is he going to play? I just dont see him wanting to stay knowing he will be 3rd or 4th choice, and that's if we play a 4-4-2. If we play a 4-3-3 with the possible players we are talking about bringing in it will be worse for him.

I think he wants to see the plans of the club. If stories hold true and we land Lukaku- he will need some time to settle. Drogba is no spring chicken and Torres does not have the best history of staying continously fit in addition to the ACN which means no Drogba for a month.

I suspect that he stays and is given a look in, although that really depends on the appointment of the next manager.

third striker or on the right or left, first attacker off the bench, always sounds crowded in the summer before you get injuries and all the comps start up, move him ahead of Anelka and Kalou on the depth chart and he will see good time plus we need fire power on the bench this season rather than rb changes

great point except for moving ahead of anelka who really needs to leave

it looks like Rolu is coming in, so we'll have DD, Torres, Rolu, Danny and Sala

IF we play 442, 5 is perfect imo, especially when DD is 32/33

Re: Are We Sure Ashley Cole Doesnt Have Stock In The Sun/News Of The World? - The Chelsea News Threa

Then what if we bring in one of Neymar or Aguero?? Throw in a winger, Turan or De Bruyne.

Playing a 4-4-2, I suspect first choices will be one of neymar/Aguero along with Torres, 3rd & 4th choice will be Drogba & Lukaku, then you got Danny, and that's counting Anelka and Kalou being sold.

4-3-3 he would have a better chance of playing the right side, but I dont think that's his best position. Playing a 4-3-3, I would assume the front 3 would be Neymar/Aguero -Torres - RW and that still leaves you DD & Lukaku to bring into the mix. I'm trying to see where he fits in, and I just dont see it.

Neymar/debruyne/turan are wingers and will have the LW position on lock, but as far as Aguero and Lukaku, theres no room for both its gonna be one of em.

Tbh all this Aguero stuff is made up. Since we've been linked with him year after year it makes a good story to sell papers, that all IMO.

If were gonna sign more than 2 wingers its gonna be 433, if were gonna sign lukaku its gonna be a 442. Neymar would fit the bill in both a 442 and 433 as he can play a LW in both formations and as forward in a 442, but it i keep hearing lukakus coming and neymar isnt soo.....

Maybe Guus can find a way of rotating all of our players each week like Fergie does with manU, although thats a bit of wishfull thinking.

Please don't insult Drogba like that....@ his old age I'm 110% sure he'll still be more effective than those other guys... bottom line: the "old man" knows HOW TO GET THE JOB DONE...as long as he can run and maintain his strength he should always be the 1st choice for Chelsea

In a year where he had malaria, no Lamps for near half of the season, no service, he still had in the League 12 goals and 15 assists, (he was directly involved in near half of all of Chelsea's goals for the whole season) and people are ready to discard him for a guy with 1 Chelsea goal and 1 assist*, 18 year olds, or players with 0 Chelsea or Premier League goals:confused::confused::rolleyes:, get him a play-maker and service this year and he will score 20 goals 10 + assists + if healthy all year, plus defend all over the field and be one of our best set piece defenders

    * I do think with an upgrade in service and a summer's rest and a better gaffer he will show a lot better this year however

Anelka only had 6 League assists and 6 League goals last season, the numbers above for Drogs were also League only;)
