Puyol receives the medical clearance and travels with the squad!

    Valdés, Pinto
Fontàs, Puyol, Maxwell, Adriano, Piqué, Alves, Milito
Busquets, Keita, Xavi, Iniesta, Thiago, Dos Santos
Afellay, Pedro, Jeffren, Messi i Villa.

Puyol with a medical clearance? Fantastic news. That said, I don't really know if I want him to play this match. No need to risk anything, but it sure would be nice to have him fit when CL semis begin and maybe Copa final as well.

Even if he isn't fit to play, Pep should include Puyol on the bench just so he can spook Sergio Ramos. :p

I obviously hope you collect the winnings, but I honestly don't see it happening. Mourinho is too shrewd and LPB has too much talent to lose to the same team two times within a week let alone three times within two weeks.
If Barca win all three, I'll welcome suggestions from you and everyone else on what to put as my sig. ;)

Here we go, Cules, the first of four Clasicos.

I must admit, the trophy I want Barca to win is the Champions League. Also, the trophy I don't want Real to win is the same one. So, with that in mind, the two legs of the CL semi-finals are the most important of the four, especially the first leg at the Bernabeu.

For this La Liga game I think Pep will come out with: Valdes - Alves, Pique, Milito, Adriano - Sergio, Xavi, Keita - Iniesta, Villa, Messi. I predict the score would be a draw, possibly a 2-2.

Hearing that captain Puyi is medically cleared is a pleasant surprise, but it would be stupid to risk re-injury and playing him this Saturday. It would be better to save him for the remaining three games vs Real M - they are more important, anyway.

TBH, I fear Mourinho has something up his sleeve for these games. That last trashing of 5-0 will be more on his mind than the players' and he is more motivated and confident than they are.

I personally would give Real this game, if it means that we win CdR final and CL. I think that even if we lose the first of four, we would still win La Liga.

I say bring Puyol on in last 30 min to see how he feels and how he looks. If he is truly fit then I woudn't be against starting him if there isnt a big risk of re-injuring himself. Cause lets face it, out of all the Clasicos coming up this one is the least important.

Im just happy to have our captain back. He is the heart and soul of this team!

PUYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOL. Yes, cometh the clasico cometh the captain. Enough of that weird English....I cant wait for all these Clasicos. I think we've come to a consensus that this match seems to be the least important of the four. I say we put Fontas out there tomorrow. He cant do much worse than Milito has done in his past recent outings

Funny to see Carvalho there, I totally forgot that his disqualification is for Champion's League only, not Liga. So we see him in Spring Clasico 1 but not in Spring Clasico 3.

That is an incredible squad they have there. I do hope football is the winner. Sadly I will miss the 2nd half in order to coach (and referee) my son and a bunch of other 5 year olds who can barely pass (though a few do have good noses for the goal or defense).

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRh5CofRKTY&feature=feedf"]Speaking of Ramos' red card.[/ame]

I hadnt seen why ramos actually hit messi like that, the version of the game i downloaded(skysport) shows the replay of jeffrens goal and you dont get to see what happens. at 41seconds you can tell why ramos was mad, messi was playing around with him after it was 5-0 lol.

Thanks for the video, during the live game only the audience would have been able to see what happened before the tackle because they were still replaying the goals on tv. Ramos got played like a violin, dude needs to just give up he always gets raped in the clasicos.

    May the Quadrilogy begin.

I agree this chapter 1 is least vital but I don't follow the reasoning "let them have this one if it means we win: the other 3." It doesn't mean anything. If we don't play to win each battle then we risk losing the war. Our main advantage is that we own their a$$es. They will shit themselves if we score first.

That's not to say every game is isolated. The biggest carryover effect each game can have is (1) psychological, if there's a goleada or similar pwnage, and (2) injuries. I'm worried about this latter factor: playing at home where the ref could be intimidated by the mandril masses, LPB might risk doing hard fouls if the potential reward is taking Messi or Iniesta or Xavi out of the next matches. I hope not, but I don't put it past Mou...

A red card in the Liga wouldn't carry over to the Copa del Rey, is that right?

Direct red cards carry over but a red card resulted by two yellows will not carry over.

I think we need to step up today and still show them what's up. I agree, there's so much psychology at stake with these matches. I guess from a fan's perspective we may get the least amount of nerves from watching this one. Maybe lol.

Goltv I think has a pregame show too so you may want to just check about 30min to an hour before the match starts to see that.
