Guerrero needs to get out of Independiente. The only reason he plays there is b/c they elevated the kids price tag from day one and no ecuadorian team was willing to pay 1.5 mil or more for him. I always watch Independiente's games he's still doing pretty well this year. He's always been consistent.

Neither of those matter to FIFA. He is still eligible to play for Ecuador.

If it doesn't matter than why did Fernando Guerrero refuse to be part of the youth Spanish NT? Look it up. There are plenty of articles. It would be interesting if Pedro accepted but as a U-21 Spanish NT member. You are an adult and already made a firm decision.

Re: Felipe Caicedo- News at Levante UD

I don't have the answer. All I am saying is that according to FIFA, and not that I agree with this - in fact, quite the opposite, you may play for another NT at the senior level that you have ties to even if you already represented another NT at youth levels.

Kevin-Prince Boateng is the perfect example. He went through the German youth system and played official matches with them but never the senior team and eneded up playing for Ghana in the WC.

Again, not according to FIFA. Jermaine Jones played Germany at the youth level for international tourneys and even had a couple caps for the NT in unofficial matches. Because they were unofficial, and according to FIFA as per their ruling over a year ago, Jones was able to make a one-time switch to play for the United States as his father is American.

Do I agree with this? Fuck no!! but as I said in my initial post - this is according to FIFA Law, and not what I think is correct.

I think that once you put on a country's colors on your back - that should be it!!!

    FIFA disagrees...

didn't Edgar Castillo (ex Santos Laguna & America) play for Mexico's youth NT's and then ended up selecting to play for the United States NT? that type of sh*t happens sometimes.

Saw him play today and he scored a penalty. Other than that Caicedo did not play well at all. I'm thinking just been out a bit so he is rusty. He had at least three chances to score clearly but his finishing was terrible. Montero played better though.

Pique and Valdes got a bit confused as the ball headed back to the Barca goal and Caicedo pounced in and smashed it with his right on a difficult angle. He just pulled a move on Pique and Pique got frustrated and pulled him which resulted in a yellow card. Felipao is killing it out there today.

Re: Felipe Caicedo- News at Levante UD

He received a cross in the area, chested it down, flicked it up with his knee, and did a bicycle kick past the keeper.

...Oh wait, that was Kaviedes against Barcelona in the 1990's :D

has there ever been a time in ecua soccer history where we could say we had two of our top players score goals vs 2 top ranked Euro teams in the same month ? let alone 3 days apart ? Felipao and Tono have made history... :p

Caicedo played great. I wish they put in Montero but oh well. Waka waka boy had a lot of trouble stopping Caicedo by himself. Barça added another guy to cover Caicedo so that two people cover Caicedo in 2nd half. Awesome to see him score against Barça.

he had an awesome first half for being a lone striker. Can't wait to see his return to the NT.

Valencia scored against Schalke, not really a "top" Euro team. The importance of the match is another matter.

Caicedo scored against what most people consider the best team in the world, and many others consider the best team ever.

Caicedo scored 13 goals playing on a poor team as a lone striker...imagine if he played on Man United with Valencia putting in dangerous crosses all game.

Is it true that Rueda said in a press conference that he won't call Felipao to the Copa America Team?

They can't. Levante will use the option to buy him obviously which is like 1 million Euros I think. It's in the loan contract. Then they will sell him for 10 million euros at least to the highest bidder.

No way, Everyone runs 90 minutes in the prem league. everyone defends. Felipe is not doing none of that shit. 1 million euros to Man City is what they spend on Toilet paper a year. might as well just given him away for free.
