Barrera is super underrated. He's quick and can strike the ball. Vela hasnt been impressive to me and i really feel Barrera could be a great replacement. I like him much more than medina, thats for sure!

An amazing prospect does not mean that he is currently amazing.
Really? A constant threat? Which game did you watch? Please give me the times where Barrera looked half-way decent. I suppose if you think shooting the ball with no intent on accuracy is decent, then you may have an argument. In addition, I suppose he's great at diving too. I have a question for you. Had he not drawn the penalty, would you be able to say anything about Barrera in the France game aside from his horrible shot?

At least you keep things in perspective and acknowledge the bold.

There is a reason why Barrera calls himself the Mexican CR9 ;). Seems like he's been learning how to dive.

Seems like you lack reading comprehension.

There is no bait, nor am I trolling.

Oh he's made an impression alright...

He has potential; potential that won't be developed in the world cup. He is a prospect, and not a super sub like people make him out to be. Going by the general trend in friendlies, he doesn't come through when needed. I did exaggerate his quality. He is not "shit," he is just nothing special "skill-wise" as of now.

Actually he has all the skills and dribble he needs for professional futbol and he's pretty special because to get past through defenders he usually does a dribble and not more than needed. He doesn't have a good shot on goal recently, but for Pumas he scored a lot of goals which were great goals. You can't expect every player to score and when everytime he comes in as a sub he has a general impact on the game, more so than when he's a starter. He is a supersub.

Pablo Barrera got past one of the best and fastest defenders in the world really easily, he should stay in europe after the WC. Unlike Vela which is really not living up to they hype.

he's looked good but not great. The biggest impression of him with the NT is that he passes when he needs to shoot and shoots when he should pass

    Haters!!

If the player is Mexican he is just never good enough it seems to many of you. So much negativity. These guys are young and still growing on potential. These players as a whole are showing more than any generation of players in Mexico's history. Especially at there age. In fact, my personal belief is that if Aguirre would start all the young players they would give better results than Conejo, Franco, and Blanco. Even more if you consider that they would really have a good chance of doing some damage in the next world cup. In fact, that is what was worst about Aguirre not bringing Jona Dos Santos to this world cup. As usually the 23rd player on the team does not play any way.

Mexico probably will not win this world cup, but they certainly would have a chance to win one of the next two cups. If this group of young players is brought along appropriately.

psssh yea right dude... we all love his scoring abilities, but passing is not one of his best area.

Sure he doesn't suck at striaght up passing like Torrado. But he's passing IQ is crap. He likes to shoot even when there's no chance of making it ala nery and Pablo, when other players are better positioned.

But he makes up for his deficiencies unlike nery and somewhat of Pablo

I see you didn't watch many pumas games

    He's a good passer
God knows how many assist he would have had if not for Dante Lopez/Palencia/Bravo

Ok, dude I'll take your word for it since your not biased or anything.

I mean your location is "Dario Veron" which doesn't mean we know where your loyalties lie.

    Yes i am pumas fan

That doesn't mean i'm ********ing blind

I've watched Barrera since he first came into the scene

I have seen his ups and downs. From the time Miguel Espana first began to give him a real shot at the first team, to his injury and Tuca benching him for David Toledo

I don't rely on just a pair of friendlies with the NT to come up with a conclusion on what type of player he is

    He's a good passer
Anyone who followed Pumas the last couple of seasons can tell you this

The rushed shot's he was taking were nothing more than the actions of a player trying to get noticed

If you guys had downloaded the torrent that I posted, the commentator clearly says "Barrera, oh good runner with the ball, away from Patrice Evra he just let him go! Over Abidal, it's a penalty! it was a great run by Pablo Barrera even Patrice Evra couldn't stick with him and when abidal slid him, barrera went over and it's a pentaly." Then they talk how Barrera made Evra look like he was injured, lol.

Ah they say "I can't ever remember Evra being so comfortably beating by pace, as he was by Barrera"

    Haters!!!

When it matters he scored against Pachuca to win the Championship. This is the reason why the guy is still butt hurt.

Take you "Equipo de Mexico" goggles off when analyzing El Tri.

By the way Barrera has only started once for the NT in the gold cup.

I really don't know where people get that Barrera doesn't perform well when in the starting line-up, when Barrera has only done it once. It is very typical for people to judge players from one game.

I think people already have Barrera labeled as a super-sub therefore it will be difficult to change peoples mind even if Pablo has a good game as a stater.
