Philly made out like a bandit today (and yesterday). And to have Stahl drop all the way to their second round pick is just the icing on their cake.

Lalas and Saghin are blasting that pick repeatedly on MLSInsider. As a Crew fan, that actually make me feel better. We should put all of these comments on a DVD loop and send it to his house just before the first practice of the season...

Can Duka play the left side of midfield at all? As I have no clue, never looked anything up on him. But if he can, Duka might find himself starting if Rogers leaves. And, I think Rogers is headed to Europe by the end of the transfer window. Just a feeling I have.

Btw, thanks Rob Stone and Alexei for ruining my day by stressing hey GBS's deal is just a verbal agreement which means horseshit (laughing), thanks for that.

Ironically, at least one of their two remaining picks - if he makes the team - will have to be inked to a senior contract. Lucky dude, to be a low-round pick and score a senior roster salary.

But they definitely did well. At least two (probable) starters today, and two other young talents for the future.

    Someone should make that shirt:

"Palermo Roofing and Parking Lot paving: your one stop shop for Columbus Crew-related offseason rumors"

    Sell them at Applebees.

    Wow, Mwanga, Okugo, and Stahl.
I think even McInerney will pan out. Got a good feeling about him.

The Seattle Sounders just picked Mike Seamon.

As far as "Names that will be awkward when put on TV or announced over the P.A.", this daft rates highly.

    Two-Boys Gumede is still available...

Maybe having Dike will give us the inside track on picking up another great name from Notre Dame: Tamba Samba.

And now Philly just got Nakazawa from LA with their third round pick. Yet another player who just fell into their laps. Nowak is going to be throwing a big party tonight.

He's the one that's supposed to be very talented, but very lazy.

Nowak can make an example of him for the rest of the team.

    From the video posted:

Dike scores 2 goals with the right foot to the far corner and 1 with the left foot near corner. All from the right side. one of which was kinda cheeky. Not great goaltending/marking

So from that video he will be right at home behind Garey, Lenhart, Renteria and Palermo ;)

Careful with that Palermo business...Ives will post it as fact, then bemoan how "cheap" the Crew FO is when the non-existent deal doesn't get done.

Interesting that the first Big 10 player was not taken until the middle of the third round--and was *not* from Indiana. No wonder they made a coaching change.

I do hoe Yeisley gets a decent chance--he's a good talent that was hobbled by two knee injuries in college but had a pretty good senior season (and usually it takes a year to fully come back from a knee--and he was still in the middle of that year this season).

Is Sarkodie still going to be available at our next pick? I'm kind of surprised he's still available now. If he is available, I think we should take him.

I think its a bit odd that we have 3 of the last 5 picks in the draft, and we still have 11 more to go before we know what we'll do. I'm really surprised with Dike, as that seems like a guy we could have traded some lower picks from this or next year to get in the late 2nd or early 3rd round (if he didn't fall all the way to 60th).
