Will Michael Owen be accepted by the Utd. faithful? As a former Liverpool player, he's sure to find the going tough. What will happen on his return to Anfield in the wrong red shirt?

some pretty interesting stories in todays papers !

The Independent is saying Liverpool turned down a £50m bid for Torres, the Star is saying Utd, Chelsea and City all bid £60m but has nothing to back it up. The Independent is a lot more reliable

The Times is saying Terry wants to at least talk to City and that City will pay him £250k a week

The Express is saying Chelsea are even looking at Newcastle's Steven Taylor as a replacement

The Star (which had previously said Tevez was unsure about City) now seems to think that move is going to happen

Couple of papers (telegraph and NOTW) talking about Eto'o to Utd

Villa - Spurs and Utd want Ashley Young

could be a big week ahead :D

Eto'o will not go to United for the sums bandied about. He is 29 and only has 2, 3 seasons max at a high level. He is worth 15m but with todays crazy prices, Barca will want an unreasonable 25-30mil

News report says that Owen Man U shirts are not selling at the store.
Guess the fans are waiting for his first match and how he performs in the wrong red shirt before deciding what to make of him.
For me, Owen will bring these 10 values to Man United.

agreed - they won't find another club willing to pay either the transfer fee or wages City would have paid, in fact one paper saying he wants barca to give him a free transfer

Eto'o turned 28 in March. He is also the only elite forward available for a reasonable price because he is entering into the last year of his contract.

Owen does not have a squad number and the new strip has not been released yet.

Eto'o wont leave Barca. Barca needs him to help win the league and still wants him to mentor Messi. Plus Real Madrid got C. Ronaldo and Kaka.

not sure I agree with that, indications are that Eto'o wants to go and Barca want to sell him

Ferguson has just said btw that Utd will not be buying any more players  - link here
