Great win by Santos - when it seemed that the Argentines had pulled another last-minute draw, Ze Roberto shut up all the fans of Ginasio e Esgrima da Prata.

Santos Futebol Clube, doing a good job representing futebol Brasileiro in the 2007 Libertadores, with nothing but wins and only one goal allowed. If they keep this up they will secure home field advantage throughout the elimination rounds.

(Let's just see, though, if Vanderlei Luxemburgo's star shines in bracket elimination - he's done well in the leagues, but Libertadores?...)

By the way, I saw highlights on Telefutura. The idiots put up the emblem of SANTOS LAGUNA of Mexico rather than the Santos FC emblem.

Ze Roberto's goal was a rocket. The inbound pass-heel pass combo was vintage jogo bonito... Ginasio e Esgrima da Prata's defenders were clueless (though they messed up badly in the opening goal). They're lucky Santos failed with that penalty kick.

(Incidentally, it's the second night that a Brazilian side in the LIbertadores misses a PK; Ceni missed last night vs. Necaxa.)

I would say that He was a bit irregular but still a good first season in top league.
Especially since he joined the team after WC break.
About 14 goals in 27 games, not bad at all.
And now he is contributing well in Santos.
Another example of Corinthian rejects that succeed.
And well Mengao compared to Roni…;-)

Tiui is very mobile but too irregular and bad finishing.
And both are young and will develop
but as said they need a experienced centre forward.

Defensor Sporting 0, Santos 2. Santos FC has the best record in this year's Libertadores and has guaranteed first place from its group.

At this pace, Santos will secure home field advantage for as long as it remains in the competition.

I wonder whether this might be Santos' year.

    Hello santistas:

Sebastián Pinto, chilean forward, is the new player of Santos F.C.
He's young and tall, and also a fighter.

He played in Cobreloa and Universidad de Chile in the last 2 seasons.

Santos FC have a nice start in Brasileirão 09. I think we can reach the Copa Libertadores zone.
    Go Santos!

So there is a Santos thread. Luxemburgo is a great "signing". He'll finally get Fabao out of central defense and please, PLEASE, get another striker. KP hasn't done anything this year. And don't do a Mancini and not start Neymar he's the best striker we have.

I heard that Mao got sold so that may be his first piece of business.

Is Mancha good enough to start or will he be on the bench?
