    If we miss out..
the very second its confirmed the FA should be on the phone to Hiddink.
This time ,they keep it under their hat until after euro 2008.
Just so we dont get a repeat of the scolari farce.

i think, looking at what McSven has done, why not promote Venables as he does nothing at the moment and combine him with Bobby Robson. They are the Grandads of the game and can teach alot. They would put the players in there place, either that or promote Pearce and he can do a Peter Taylor for a while. In my opinion the National team should not need much managment, we have world class players through out the Premier League and the cream of the worlds talent, any English 11 picked from the top 10 teams in the prem should be able to win games.

The way the players ahve performed for England has been shocking, no passion from key members like, Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Ferdinand, J&A Cole. The players who have offered most are the squad players who are playing for the shirt, SWP, Richards, Barry, Heskey all have been great and without them we would of suffered more.
Time to not qualify and start Building a hungry team.
I think Lampard will be Key, if this game means anything, kicking him out the 11 has woke him up and has been performing again.

I hate the word passion. It's used as a back handed compliment for lower league teams when they play well against big teams. It's a nice way of saying 'Look, you've got no skill but you tried hard.' Passion doesn't win you major tournaments, skill, luck and organisation do.

    And Venables and Robson? FFS....

yeah ,when I think of "passion" I think of the world war one army general who sends the troops over the top of the trenches to get mowed down by machine gun fire.
    its not clever.

Ok then, dont playu with anyt interest or direction in there play, they just seem to be on the pitch because they are told to be not cause they want to be there and play to win.

    not everyone is like that.
Ive seen that from lampard and sometimes rooney.
The last thing we need is another thick bastard as manager .like stuart pearce or kevin keegan.

Kevin Keegan had all the passion in the world. Passion alone gets you nowhere.

I'd like to see Jose Mourinho as England manager. If you want a guy who will come in, get the squad organised, give confidence to players, take the pressure off them- he is the man to do it. The main criticisms I imagine people coming up with are his style of play and the fact he's Portuguese. The first one- style of play is irrelevant. The media and fans just want results. If we won a major tournament playing 1-0 all the way from the early rounds to the final, England would be ecstatic. The second one, simply irrelevant. You pick the best man for the job.

Sir Alex Ferguson...to me he's a slam-dunk for the job! He's a perfect fit and I believe he would lead the under-achieving England to great heights.

I don't know if you're aware of some of Fergie's public comments but there is no way he would ever take the England job. He's a Scotsman. They don't like us very much.

More chance of Jose if he was offered the right contract.

    Roy Hodgson.

There's only one manager I'd have from Portugal, not sure I'd have a Brazilian manager either.

mcClown is the worlds highest paid national team boss. No wonder he wants to keep the job if he fails.
If he gets sacked he is pretty much unemployable.

No way a brazillian manager. All of them suck. It is wonder how they don't win every WC with all that talent. I mean, you could put 3 different wining squads. Besided, is there any succesfull brazillian club coach in europe? (the answer is no:))

Hodgson has a class CV but I'm not sure he's up for the job.

England do not have any decent managers. McClown is the best of a hopeless bunch I'm afraid.

Even if we do qualify, I'd sack him anyway. He'll only take us there and embarass us. We're never going to win sh!t with him in charge so the sooner we change the better.....

    Why???
In 2002 my 9 year old daughter could have coached Brazil to victory. It was the easiest World Cup they've won.
Other than that what has he done???

I didn't say winning the World Cup was easy, you're quoting me out of context.

I was making the point that Brazil didn't win it in 2002 because they had a fantastic coach who transformed them into a world class team, they already were.

As for Portugal, they had home advantage in 2004, yet lost to Greece twice. He hardly transformed them into world beaters did he?
