Great idea. I remember reading an article/blog posting/some sort of online written thingamajig a few days back that actually did count the amount of changes made through the course of last season (for the big 4), and Rafa had made grand total of like 2 more changes than the next highest team. I'll see if I can find the article edit: it's the Thommo article on the first page of this thread...bad habit of not reading the whole thread before I post!
I could do it more easily in Excel, if you want. Either attach the file or just put up a screenshot. Just let me know.
OK here's the spreadsheet If anyone can or wants to help update the MatchDays sheet, PM me an email address and you will get an invite the P (games played) column is automated, if we put a club acronym in the column next to it, it will get a value=1 the PLayers column is temporary - leave blank for the time being. I intended it for keeping track of how many players the team uses throughout the season Totals are displayed in the Summary sheet which we can sort at the end Do we want to keep track of Cup matches (UCL, FA Cup, Worthington)?
I'm in college, between sleeping and socializing I need to find something to do. My parents say schoolwork...I say not.
LOL...that's what I think too...but this topic had been discussed before and there are backers on both sides - these fine gents just decided to find out who's right once and for all
It's a classic wedge project. Lots of effort at start-up, it runs itself once you're on your way. Once you slackers all leave college, you can probably put this on your CV's. I might even spring you all a reference.
You can keep track of Cup matches if you like, however I do not intend to. This is because comparing number of rotations in Cup matches can be less meaningful as some teams will play more cup matches than others. For example Liverpool made less FA Cup lineup changes than Arsenal last year for obvious reasons. The point was to show if Rafa's changes in the Prem impact our results and how these changes compare with his rivals. Are you planning to store the lineups? I am still planning to add them here.
wasn't planning to store lineups - the spreadsheet will be summary and totals. When you do the next round of matches, you can just put the actual number of changes from match to match and we can use the sheet to total up the number of changes. if that makes sense at the end. on the summary worksheet we can put percentages (points vs changes and other little tidbits we can calculate) I wish someone would work on a ajax embedding code like [ YOUTUBE= ] [ /YOUTUBE ]

"Sadly, I've been unable to persuade Fifa, Uefa, and the Premier League to allow me to use 12 players in every game." rofl
I have a doubt .. Spurs have 2 line ups until now .. What if they use the line up used in the first game at a later point of time during the season ? Or say, they use it the next game .. So total number of different line ups will be 2 or 3 ? Keeping track of something liek that could be a little tedious ..
I am not counting the number of times each unique lineup starts. In a 38 game season there is likely to be 25+ unique lineups for each Big 5 club. However I am listing the lineups here so if someone wants to keep track of them they can. I am keeping track of changes from game to game. This is rotation watch, not unique lineup watch

Ok, i guess this is the way to do it .. I misunderstood .. This also shows how consistent is each manager with his lineups, in the absence of injuries etc. .. Interesting .. And just for the record, Arsenal fielded the same team (Fulham game) against Sparta Prague ..
