    Re: PSG Transfer Thread

He's signed for PSG and after making a statement like after Le Guen left what is left for a French player in Scotland , it is back to where the Scottish league isnt rated in France. I want to play for France etc etc

He certainly made himself hated with that comment

^Hm, do you have a link to those comments? Honestly, given the rumored divide between the continental players and the scottish players, perhaps such a statement is a logical, even understandable, conclusion.

In any case, Clement has signed for 4 years - our second signing of the winter break.
Of course, not before OL had its part in trying to sign him. Regardless of whether or not their interest was true, one thing is sure: if they entered the negotiations and made a bid, it'd be likely that Rangers took advantage of the alternative OL commitment and raised the price for PSG. Thanks assholes!

Mulumbu has confirmed that he's had contacts with english clubs, and namely Manchester United who've come to inform themselves about our Youssouf.
I don't know whether it's good that our youngsters are so good that they already interest big clubs, or whether we should keep him and not make the same mistake as with Anelka

Now for Clement, as you said, thanks to Aulasshole for just bothering any French club even for players they don't care about and making us raise our offers. Same think happened with Baning (where did he go lol), Diane, made sure we paid Frau gold, etc.

^ I agree - apparently he played well whenever he was called up to the first team, so it's only logica that we do our best to keep him.

for more specificity about clement, the fee was 2 million euros for 4 and a half years. Reasonable at the end of the day, given the state of our central midfield, but OL bashing never ceases to entertain...

    degaulas :p

Piquionne, looks like he may prefer a move to England(Newcastle ?) but PSG still have a shot. I also saw PSG being linked with Peguy Luyindula of Levante in Spain.

F365 is reporting the near imminent arrival of Luyindula

Finally, someone is going the other way, but unfortunately it's an OM reject. He had some great seasons, but has not done well at all recently. But Paulo knows him well from Lyon so perhaps he can find the spark?

Pancrate has gone to Spain to play at Betis.

You did need another striker. You have aging Pauleta and who else ? Luyindula and Piquionne are about even I'd say.

I agree, putting all the hope and future of the club in an aging striker is a bad move. Pauleta should playing less and getting matches off, not being asked to carry the side.

We definitely need another Striker. We tried getting Lyundila before he went to Spain but it didn't happen. He's coming becuase of LeGuen and I think it's a great move. We need to score more goals which has been a problem. Pauletagol can't do it all by himself and he needs a break. This move is very good and will help alot during our UEFA Cup run.

He scored 10 goals in 33 appearences for Auxerre. There are far worse strikers out there to have like Daniel Moieria.

Still, I'm disappointed. We made all that fuss about Guy trying to get his old players from Sochaux, and now we let Le Guen get zeros like Luyundula because he likes him.

I think we could have done much better than this guy. He's going to be our Fiorese, not the good Fio, but the ass who made Vahid puke :D
Let's hope Paul won't keep him at the end of the season when he realizes it's been a fiasco. There was a reason we told Guy not to get Pedretti, why didn't somebody tell Paul no this time?

i didn't even like peguy when he played for us! i saw most of the goals he scored in 2003 (a bunch to be fair) and all i could think was he was the luckiest SOB on earth.

he left with the same soap opera as essien, all the time claiming he wanted to stay until he just ditched us... too bad the fortune OM had dangled in front of him was in monopoly money :p ...

    Re: PSG Transfer Thread

I imagine that PSG will be quite busy this summer!

Already, the rumors are everywhere. Though the mercato is still a month away, PSG has been linked with a good number of players...

...including several Lyonnais: Wiltord, Muller, Cacapa, Reveillere. With Clement and Frau in the ranks already, along with Le Guen, it would be like Lyon Deux. ;)

Except you guys have the better manager.

How about a Reveillere-Armand exchange? It'll benefit both parties.

It'll benefit Lyon, but If we want to have a better results in Paris,we have to conserve our best player and to sell the others like Kalou and Mendy, they're not bad but too irregular.

Armand is staying with us :)

My assumption is that AT THE VERY LEAST Mendy and Kalou will be leaving this summer... those both should bring some $$$ and lower the total money spent on salaries... the question is then, how much money will PSG have to spend on acquisitions and what the salary limit will be since the investors have made it clear that they will be focusing on that to lower the operating losses this team has had to deal with year in and year out...

i wouldn't mind seeing wiltord and reveillere personally

    Re: PSG Transfer Thread

I would like to see PSG keep hold of its current squad, get rid of some expensive players such as Kalou and Mendy.

Let le Guen do his magic, and get some players from Lyon, hopefully Cris and Wiltord, then see what we can do next season. Personally I feel if the players listen to him then he will have a chance..
