Since we no longer have a forum for Caribbean soccer, here is a thread for national team friendly matches. For those interested, please keep us updated on Caribbean soccer. According to http://www.rdasilva.demon.co.uk/latest.html Antigua & Barbuda 1 St Kitts 1 November 20 Nigeria vs Jamaica I wonder if the Jamaica match will be played in Europe?
Surinam has a lot of players playing in the Dutch 2nd division. If they had enough money to fly them back and forth they might have a decent (by regional standards) side.
Yeah, if they had these Dutch players I am sure Surinam wouldn't have a problem beating French Guyana.
Jamaica vs Guatemala(R) Last time I heard it ended 1-1 but I am not sure. Anyone here with a more concrete score and match report? respect
Yeah, it ended 1-1. Ruiz scored a pk for Guatemala in the 53rd minute, and Fabian Taylor equalized for Jamaica about 10 minutes later off a corner kick. Guatemala: Edgar Estrada (Danny Ortíz) - Israel Donis, Denis Chen, Alvaro Jiménez, Nelson Morales -Freddy Thompson, Guillermo Ramírez (Daniel Pedroza), Fredy García, Walter Alegría (Claudio Albizúris) - Carlos Ruiz (Néstor Martínez), Dwigth Pezzarossi (Cesar Alegría). DT: Julio César Cortés. Jamaica: Donavan Ricketts - Omar Daley (Roen Nelson), Kevin Wilson, Wolde Harris, Tyrone Marshall - Robert Scarlett, Jonathan Williams (Winston Griffiths), William Wilson (Thomas Crant), Fabian Taylor - Linval Dixon (Kirk Hendricks), Milton Griffiths (Fabian Dawkins). DT: Peter Reid.
Here is a link to a match report in the Jamaica observer. http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/spor...502_OBS_TAYLOR_S_STRIKE_EARNS_JA_____DRAW.asp respect
6 MLS players in that game. also, it is interesting to note that Craig Zaide played for Jamaica. i guess he never turned down a call-up, after all.
Leeward Islands tournament was supposed to be held on Nov 29-30 in BVI, but they might be put back until the new year because of a problem with the Tortola facility (the field isn't ready). http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/index.pl/article_sports?id=741452
SPL side Dundee face Trinidad & Tobago champs San Juan Jabloteh this friday as well as a president's XI on sunday. T&T's Brent Sanchos, Ken Gray and Kelvin Jack are all on trial with Dundee. Heart's frontman Mark de Vries could do a job for Surinam!
Barbados, T&T gear up for international matches against Finland Finland have arrived in the Caribbean to play three friendly matches, two full internationals, beginning Sunday with a contest against Barbados, giving the teams involved valuable practice ahead of key continental championship matches. The Finns will then move onto Trinidad & Tobago for a full international on Wednesday 29 January. The European side will play a Tobago XI, made of domestic league players from that island, the following weekend. http://concacaf.com/news/article.page/1179

Conditional Jamaica vs. Canada friendly For those Jamaican fans that don't venture into the Canada forum, just thought I'd mention here that Canada & Jamaica have agreed to play a friendly in Kingston, Jamaica just prior to the Gold Cup, on the condition that Canada & Jamaica aren't drawn in the same group. The word from Canadian officials is that they expect Canada to be placed in Miami for the Gold Cup, which in July is probably a nightmare location for the Canadian players used to playing in Northern Europe from the autumn to the spring. So the Jamaica friendly is an attempt to get Canada somewhat used to the tropic conditions prior to the Gold Cup.
