well at least they produce fast bowlers, which is a plus.

Here is the key thing : flat wickets make for mind numbing, uninteresting cricket. The way I see it is sri lanka and india probably had less draws because the matches go like this : Bat first, get 600, other team collapses because they've been in the field for 2 days, use 4 spinners in the final innings. It's one sided. No variety or swings in play...it kind of follows a script.

And that doesn't include pakistan. Watched them these past few days, shame they're losing right now, but this test has been heavily influence by overhead conditions, and the only good batting day was england's when the weather was bright all day. Asif is the best fast bowler in the world.

This article i read on cricinfo yesterday said that SL has had the highest results ratio after aus and rsa in the last 10 years. (Flat tracks make for pointless cricket). Which I found wierd as well. India is well know, just as much as SL for these flat nothing wickets. I remember several just in the last 2 years. Sehwag scored 300 in a day once.

You just don't see this kind of lopsided action outside the subcontinent, that's all.

      :)

Going back to the tendulkar thing...it's great and all, but look at how sangakkara has bradman's record equalled for the most centuries at a venue. The subcontinental pitches are for meaningless run scoring, and not good for good matches (a 600 each draw). It inflates batting averages just like it inflates fast bowling averages :p

"Ishant can sure bat like Jason Gillespie. Now to try and bowl like him as well."

It's just disgraceful the pitches they come up with in the subcontinent. Sangakkara, that legendary batsman, gets another double ton...and SL get 642 for FOUR. This is why test cricket is a joke down there....all these subcontinental batsmen (besides the pakistanis) have their averages pumped up by 5 runs

Haha, by now, using your "feminine intuition"/character reading skills you should know not to take ME of all people seriously :P :)

I hence refer you to a quote dated 14th July by yours truly.

      ----------
And I am in my mid 20s but i do not consider myself an adult
      ----------
I am truly flattered that my opinion means so much to you. If you're thinking of retracting that, it's way too late. :p

I'm sure your fiance doesn't think ANYTHING like me, so no need to worry

      I'm sure I won't be; I won't be marrying anyone like you :p

      As for the rest...

How long does a wedding take, or are you throwing the honeymoon into this? In any case I doubt you'd be able to late more than a few days without any football. Same goes for him and his cricket, mind you. :p

No, australia won that one. They lost with a team missing several regulars, in a heavily conditions affected (although it could have been avoided it ponting didn't choose to bat) test at Headingly.

Nice to see the second best bowler of his generation title being contested for in Galle. McGrath is probably the best cricketer of his generation, let alone bowler. :p You won't be able to find a good argument against that

What's kept you away from bigsoccer? If this is how it's gonna be after you get married, you know it's still not too late......;)

I'd probably have to settle for a multi national franchise...

On second thought, you know how those end up ;):p

haha. True. But I think if I did play cricket seriously, I'd be a #3, like the great ricky ponting. I can't imagine being an opener. I like being in the most game changing position, like the #10 in football.

No not quite. Looking back, it was probably a good idea, being about 20 years too young at the time :p

What makes you think keeper/batsman, besides missing gilly??

I was in nottingham for 2 years....This was in the 80s though. I apparently played cricket with Mark ramprakash while he was in high school. Derby and Nottingham were the main hangouts. Were you just holidaying in luton as well?
