I like Frank, but it's nice to get him out of the broadcast booth. It's also good to get a guy on staff "who gets it"
Good coach, good guy, a good will move toward the fans, and helps Wicky on the domestic player end of things. Great move all around.
Excellent move. Good for Frank Klopas, pretty good for the Fire, excellent news for my ears. First, Danhole Kelly is gone, now "frankie" has moved out of the booth.
If Klopas were to ever go back to the booth I’d like to see it at the league/national level so he could be honest about the teams, coaches and players. As for assistant? I think he proved long ago that he is a benefit on the technical side. I’m happy to see him back there.
Basti was also suppose to return in a minor front office role, but at this point I'm guessing he probably changed his mind since I hadn't heard anything about it again.
Another great move by the Mansueto Admin. A LOT of positives with one giant, glaring, ugly, piss-colored negative.
Not watching league/national games very often, I concur. Big, big fan of Klopas, ever since his days with the (indoor) Sting and the nascent US National Team in the late '80's, early '90's, but his voice makes me cringe and his "I'll tell you what" tells me the next thing is going to be meaningless. Happy to have him back as an assistant coach.
I'll tell you what Dan, a good move. The winningest coach for the Fire in the last decade with a smaller payroll. A bit hard done by management and although defensive heavy and counter attack ugly...results motherf**ker.
