    And to update:
"The Chicago Red Stars announced a deal to acquire forward Kealia Ohai from the Houston Dash.

In exchange, the Dash receives the 18th overall selection in the 2020 NWSL College Draft and defender Katie Naughton.

Chicago acquired the 9th and 18th overall selection in the 2020 NWSL Draft from the North Carolina Courage in exchange for Chicago’s sixth overall selection in the 2020 NWSL College Draft."

Probably a good idea to wait until CoB today before trying to do so. X-D

    Actually...
    I just checked http://www.nwslsoccer.com/collegedraft
They already have NC at #6, CHI and #9, and HOU and #18.
So I guess that site is updated close to live??

With changes going on, we may need real time draft order!

I'm curious who is considered number 1 in this draft? At least high chance of being number 1? Or top 3?

Depends on who declares. Of the top two seniors - Castallenos and Flemming - the former is already going to Spain and we don't know about the latter. Fox is probably also in the picture. Two-time MAC winner Macario still has a year of NCAA eligibility left but could declare. Also rumors of Smith and Sanchez going pro early.

Whatever's going on, one thing to consider that's been buried in the other trade news is this: NC wanted to bump up just three slots so much that they traded an extra pick to do so.

It could also be that NC is happy enough with their roster that they would rather have one better player over two slightly worse players. Especially with there not being an expansion draft this year, they are probably happy to take quality over quantity.

Since they got good strong forwards and defenders, possibly midfielder, maybe a winger? Definitely not goalkeeper for that position. Thats equivalent to NFL drafting a kicker in top first round.

Curious to see what Orlando will do.
I mean it was quite obvious during the season that Mark Skinner was not happy with the players he had at his disposal. So you'd expect him to sign a lot of players.

Sounds like ORL will get one or even two name players from POR for the first pick, so that should be an immediate boost even if they have to ship someone like Morgan along with the first pick.

ORL *tired* to get one of DC's Aussies, but NWSL bungled that for ORL. (I wonder if Duffy going to ORL is partially in penance?):ROFLMAO:

Just read an article where the number 1 pick in past years would usually be almost successful and big impact in NWSL. So I can see why they want that. Excluding injuries of course.

I threw together a mock draft. No internationals and assuming the big name seniors enter and the two rumored underclassmen enter.

1.Portland (via Orl) - Sophia Smith
    2.Sky Blue - Ashley Sanchez
    3.Sky Blue (via Hou,Chi) - Ally Watt
4.Chicago (via Utah) - Kaleigh Riehl
5.Chicago (via Wash) - Elise Flake
    6.North Carolina (via Sea,Chi) - Tziarra King
7.Orlando (via Port) - Morgan Weaver
    8.Chicago - Dani Rhodes
9.Chicago (via NC) - Taylor Kornieck

It's hard to imagine Chicago drafting all of the ones you've identified for them, given the salary cap, they just won't have enough money to pay them. That is, unless there's a pretty big trade involving Chicago during the draft. What is Chicago's key need (other than a big time scorer)? Who might have someone who could fill that need? There's a possible "draft and trade" I can imagine, but I don't know if the other team has someone they'd give up that Chicago needs.

Joking aside, I think Reign FC would be more likely to get any OL player.

CHI and SEA trade picks, with #9 this year going to the Reign and #24 this year *and* first-round next year going to the Red Stars.

I hear the 2021 class should be amazing so I think the Red Stars won this by far, especially considering losing the #9 pick this year is nothing compared to the three first-round picks they still have.

I'm an admitted dough head when it comes to this stuff, but it looks to me like the Royals traded the 4th spot in the 1st round to Chicago, and now we're buying the 8th spot back from them. I'm sure there's something about this that makes sense but I'm missing it. Any insight?
