This is one of the two matches in which Everton turns up every season. The other is when we meet on its own patch.
the guardian's summary of Everton's performance yesterday vs LCFC: Whatever the future of Marco Silva, Everton are not a team bereft of talent. Djibril Sidibé, playing as a wing-back, supplied the excellent cross from which Richarlison scored a diving header of which Andy Gray and Graeme Sharp, the strike partnership of the club’s 1980s golden era, would have been proud. And the Brazilian goalscorer maintained his threat right up to the point Leicester stole the game with Kelechi Iheanacho’s late winner. Moise Kean’s brief cameo started with an improvised chip that had Kasper Schmeichel beaten and scrabbling. Alex Iwobi played a second-half crossfield pass of wonderful vision amid other flashes of creativity. James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes were kept unusually quiet by the midfield endeavour of Tom Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson. Defeat, though, came when concentration dropped.
To be honest they played well and defended stubbornly. I expect the same on Wednesday Patience will be tested and we need to get right in their faces throughout
****** Our game apparently will be picked up on NBCSN once the Special Once's game is over - so maybe the second half ******
They've got more talent than their position in the table would seemingly indicate. It would be funny to see them relegated. They might not recover though. All the typical derby maxims apply - throw out the form book, don't look at the table, keep all 11 men on the pitch.
The Everton position is much worse than performances have suggested. And expect the bitters to attack, no doubt about that. We need to be on the lookout and stop gifting chances as we did against Brighton.
expect them to put constant high crosses into the box, lots of physicality pressure on Adrian at every opportunity. god, I hate derby matches !
their fixture list over the next 5 weeks. they're doomed Liverpool Chelsea Man Utd Leicester (Cup) Arsenal Man City Liverpool (Cup)
Nother 2-1 incoming, isn’t it? Prediction: First-half Liverpool goal, Everton equalizer second half maybe, Everton attempts to shithouse draw, followed by Liverpool stoppage time winner.
would be perfect, if you add Origi coming on in injury time and scoring our 5th goal in the 96th minute after a Pickford brainfart.
was he even playing? Sidibe was there on Sunday - and played quite well though was pretty hurt at the end of the game.
