Looking to buy 3 tickets for the Amsterdam and Copenhagen Round of 16 games. Any category will do. If interested, please e-mail me at ivisotsky@aol.com Thanks. Gary
Ha! Yeah, I'm really happy with that game. Wouldn't miss it. That game and the England/Croatia game are my two best so a little bummed that they are back to back like that, but hopefully it should be ok.
Gatwick. I fly out of Heathrow the next day (to Budapest) so I'm struggling a bit with the logistics of it all. I have a hotel booked near Wembley, so I guess I'll take the train and drop of my luggage and hang around Wembley for the day, because I probably won't be able to check in early. I guess with a 2:00 p.m. start, there's no reason for me to be staying in Wembley, so I guess I could book a more central London hotel, go there from Gatwick, then take the train to the game, and then go back after the game. The idea of being able to walk from the game right to the hotel and not mess with the tube or the train was kind of attractive, but there may be no need for that now. Sorry if this belongs more in a travel thread (is there one for Euro 2020 or is this the catchall), but any suggestion anyone has for my itinerary would be great. Again the general outline is arrive at Gatwick around 9:00, go to game at Wembley, leave out of Heathrow the next morning. I've been to Wembley before and I think I stayed in Marleybone and it was convenient, but I don't remember.
Marylebone is very convenient from Wembley as the overground trainline is much better than going to Wembley Park on the Underground.
IF Scotland make it of course the game will be a sell out. IF they don't make it tickets will be easily available and probably at less than cost. Personally if Scotland aren't playing there I won't be going. Not a City I like visiting.
Hi everyone just have a quick question here. I wanna apply for the euro 2020 tickets, and Im a bit concerned about the rules there. I want to apply as a main applicant to get tickets just for myself. But my friend will apply for all 4 and I will be addes as one of the guests. Is this against the rules? I wanted to apply myself anyway just in case, I didn't know he had to add some guest, I just read about this on the euro 2020 website, that all guest tickets will be named etc. before on the games I used to go on the match with a different name on the ticket than me. So once more, If I will be one of the guest then I can't apply myself as main applicant? It said on their website that it may be cancelled or something if you apply as guest in multiply accounts. cheers.
Well you can put fake names and passport numbers as guests, it does not have any importance. The only important thing is to have a genuin main applicant, that's it. Experienced guys in the forum can confirm please ?
Yes I just phoned my friend and it doesn't really matters because they never check id on the stadium anyway. And in somebody have previous exp with this I have one more question. Does payment details have to match the applicant or you can pay with different card? So let's say I get someone for the draw he gets to be the lucky one but doesn't want to buy them can I buy it for him and then he gives me the tickets?
No, I paid for tickets on my credit card under the application of a buddy as we all applied to increase our chances.
This tournament is going to be the worst of all time. I should go to rome and go back to baku and go back to some unknown city if Turkey qualifies for round 16. I will go for opening game against Italy and then visit other cities and watch other teams. Baku will be like a home for us against Switzerland and Wales. I do not think more than 5000 Wales or Switzerland fans will be in Baku. It is not going to be anything different than a home game for us.
I am not sure why you are saying it will be the worst of all time and then say how good it is to be in Baku. However I do agree this expecting fans on mass to travel to an unknown city with three to four days notice is a big risk and can see the ticket resale site going bonkers during the tournament. It is not as if it is a choice of 2 venues but possibly five.
So is it 100% sure that uefa wont check if " guests" even exist and they wont ask for id on the stadium. You can make up the person and id nr but the main applicant obviously needs to be normal.?
The website always gets a little strange in preparation for an upcoming ticketing phase. But from about fifteen minutes before the time 14:00 CET on the 4th of December you should be able to be placed in a queue if you want to submit your application, although it shouldn't matter when in the two week period you submit (some people like to get in early or have superstitions about these things).
I have received an email form Turkish FA, which says it will be a first-come-first-served way of ticket sale. I hope I can find one. It is very surprising. In euro 2016, it was a lottery and ticket sale window was way longer than this one.
It is crazy to have bilbao, baku, london, st. petersburg at the same tournament. The reason I say Baku is nice to have for Turks is to have a large crowd of supporters. It is just about results, and only applies for Turks. I wish it was the way around. One country and almost equal number of supporters. I expect this one to be worst for the fans just because of the reasons you have mentioned as well. I have been to euro2016. One thing in my bucket list is to witness every european football championship. I like all supporters from many nations to be in the same city, or see each other in airports, coach stations, train stations. I like that atmosphere a lot. That is what makes it special. I will be in rome but there will be only Italians and Turks. That is my point.
Dont thinkt its true. On the euro 2020 website it says that there will be lottery to equal chances. So wont matter if you aplly on the first day or the last.
On the latter point I agree entirely and that is what makes the World Cup the greatest tournament of them all because you mix with people from many different continents and loads from countries who have not qualified. Still Qatar will crap all that up.
He is correct I am sure re the Turkish fans sales. The 20 qualified countries have their own sales via the UEFA portal. The lottery applies to the general public sale.
I agree with your post. Do you think the stadium will be full ? Will local azeri people support Turkey ?
I have huge concerns about Qatar. First issue is alcohol. I want to drink beer on street walking through stadium. Will it be allowed? I am not sure. Second issue is security. Qatar is not very secure given political stress across the region. Apart from this, Qatar is a tiny country. I cant imagine how it would be if English, Russian, Serbian, Croatian and Turkish fans join tournament. I do not consider even south american or other problematic asian countries. (problematic in the sense there might be clash between fans of rival countries). In euro 2016, marseille was horrible. Yes there will a massive support for Turks, not just those who come from Turkey but also locals.
