Right now, Arriola is the only offensive player on DC that would start on any mid-table or better MLS team. If United are really going to do another year of Benny Ball (Ugh) they at least need a player who can release some pressure on the defense. As of now, the offense is possibly the worst in the entire league.

Isn't it going to be more about what FC Midtjylland wants?

100% agree and business is business, but its kindda shitty to recruit a guy (on a free) under the auspices that you're going to give him a shot and then not really give him a shot. GKs get stale and they didn't play him until their Cup games, which were a couple of months into the season so it can't really be called much of a chance.

Truthfully a loan would be the best thing for our salary cap.

From what i remember, their goalkeeper who was supposed to be declining had a career season instead.

Shock of all shocks United passed on any selections in today's draft.

That’s exactly what happened. A bit douchy to extract a fee, but one mans good will is another mans bad business.

So Goff says Hamid is back with an agreement in principle on MLS terms, salary higher than Guzan's (>740K) and a 750K transfer fee to Midgetland. Also, Brillant has re-signed as well. They are still looking for a 10 and I'm assuming that Wild will be Kamara's backup at this time.

    You're severely underrating Ola Kamara.

    Underrating his potential.

2-3 ys ago is a different story. Dude barely played for the last year in China. In limited minutes last year with us all he showed is that he can upper 90 a wide open shot. I think he’s a bigger ? than you think. Lotsa potential but he’s gotta prove he’s the goal scorer of 2 ya ago.

Just to be clear. I think it’s big mistake to go into 2020 counting on Kamara to score 15 goals which would be about average for his 3 seasons in MLS, coming off the layoff in China.

He scored more than a goal every 90 minutes coming off his layoff in China.

So you’re calling 15 goals a lay up for him. Correct?

Because 3 goals in late game spot duty doesn’t necessarily project over a whole season. He may well do it, but counting on it is a mistake if there’s no legit plan B.

I'm just glad we have a plan A.

    Wait, who's our 10, again?

If you're going to argue stats, you should at least get it right. The goals he scored all came in games he started (home against RBNY, and at Montreal) - how is that "late game spot duty"?

And yes. I would expect 15 goals out of a healthy, fit Kamara in 2020.

Kamara did well in Columbus and LA because he had creators around him. If we hoof it down field and expect him to score 15 PSURoss is right. I don't think that's a knock on Kamara either. He's not a guy who's going to create his own goal scoring opportunities.

I have more faith in Kamara than that. I do think in almost any system, we can expect 15 goals and 4 assists from him. It's everyone else I am worried about. We need much better production from our mids in any version of a one striker system.

I underestimate him more seriously than you imagine.

I think in a set up like Columbus where their whole offense is built around crosses, he could thrive. But a) that's a statistically terrible strategy and b) DC ain't Columbus.

That doesn't totally explain how he netted 14 with the Galaxy while playing out of position most of the year.

Here’s the thing, Kamara can score 15 in a year and we are still a wooden spoon team

I'm afraid Proner's overestimation of your underestimation still results in a statistically average estimation.

And there's nothing you can do about it. It's science.

Biggest loss for 2020-on so far this off-season. Without him the team will look even more unprofessional.
