Poor game from Sonny today, culminating in that last moment around 93' where he had a wide open Eriksen but decided to neither pass nor shoot. Did have the accidental assist to Aurier for the winner (unaccredited assist I think) but good to get a win after being down 2-0 before 20 mins.

I didn't think he played badly. His header from the free kick required a good save. He got greedy and wanted to get a goal, at the end, when the outcome was not in doubt. His hesitation caused the opportunity to pass him and Eriksen by. We all want him to score, but it's not going to happen every game.

spurple mou is so likable and thoughtful. i know it's early but i think he feels a respect from the club and players that he didn't get with pogba and woodward (amongst others).

at 3:50, he mentions how the boys seemed tired from the international break and that perhaps he should've rotated the squad more. i can't help but think SHM is an example on his mind when he says that.

To be fair he’s played the full 90 in all 4 games in 13 days. As well, arab/Middle East travel is fcking exhausting.

    Agree.

Was at the game yesterday. He didn't play poorly. He made good runs (when he did run) and looked dangerous when he had the ball. He just strolled around too much when he didn't have the ball. Looked very very tired. Was surprised he didn't get subbed instead of moura.

It was not his best game but it was not as bad as some think. Son had the only shot on goal in the first half (set piece flick that would’ve went in if it weren’t for a good save by the keeper) and for Kane’s first goal he sprinted to front post taking the defender with him and freeing up Kane. Then he flicked Dele’s cross to Aurier for the 3rd goal. He was double marked so there wasn’t a whole lot he could do

Sweet assist by Son. Just shows how bad Pochettino was in his in game management.

one of those matches where son is the most unselfish in attack and he looks annoyed about it.

it'd be wonderful if kane, dele, and son could all be on the same page more often to be unselfish and make the right pass for the team goal

It's interesting because you want your scorers to be somewhat on the selfish side because they become more clinical and ruthless when in front of goal (or at least they'll exhibit that attitude). Between those three, I'd say Kane 90% looks to score first before entertaining a pass, Son 75%, and Alli 50%.
