Steffan starts today but has knee tendinitis keeping him off the NT?

Am I just overly hopeful that this is the beginning of a revolt against Egg and the USSF team of dopes?

I wish that Nagbe was in the pool but I don't see the range or more importantly the tenacity/bite in Nagbe that I see with Adams.

I actually think that Nagbe is what Berhalter wants in a regista. Maybe that's whom he was counting on.

Last two seasons, Nagbe was the bite for Atlanta United. I’m very worried that we will struggle to even make the playoffs without him next year. Columbus got an absolute steal no matter what they offered Atlanta. My only hope is now that Nagbe is close to his family; he will reconsider wanting to be part of the USMNT.

To be fair though, I see our dual mods starting Adams/McKennie and back-ups Nagbe/Morales.

So we want the players in Europe to refuse the calls, but we don't want so many MLSers. I guess what we really want is to forfeit.

If he really does have a hip issue, and I see no reason not to believe Lumpy, Puli should stay in London and rest up.

Frankly, we shouldn't need Puli to beat Canada and Cuba. It theoretically is the perfect set of games to put youth out there. That we probably need Puli to beat Canada and Cuba under Egg Head is more of why the current program is an embarrassment.

Canada has more players active in the Champions than we do.

@cyberthoth, do you think that Bradley is good enough to be a B1 starter? What about Lletget?

If the team is in 4231 then Morales would play along the '2' with McKennie. Lletget would play a-mid.

In a 433, Morales would play the '6' or backup McKennie at the '8'. Morales wouldn't be in competition with Lletget.

He excelled against Mexico, so I don't get the wishy-washyness over him. He is solidly in the rotation.

Agreed with all of it, but obviously this isn't going to happen. Morales/McKennie as the "2" in the 4231 would be absolute nails. But it also leaves Trapp/MB without a position.

In terms of effectiveness with the NT, I also don't get why Lletget keeps getting called up and playing. He was just as bad as Roldan last time out.

How did you feel about Nagbe's role in both Toronto goals in the Conference Championship game?

I actually like Lletget but he has a pretty specific and limited skillet as a national team player. As some others have mentioned, if we actually played a 4-2-3-1 with McKennie/Holmes and Morales/Adams as the 2, I think Lletget would be a good option for the 10 position (though Ledezma might be better). Lletget has come in and looked good at times which is more than I can say for Roldan. Of course, Holmes looked even better but he's persona non-grata.

Alphonso Davies had the 2nd highest rating for any Bayern player against Dortmund today. He is in great form and seems to have won the LB spot.

I remember some American pundits after the last game dismissing him as a bench warmer and that the U.S had far more quality.

the us does have far more quality even if Davies becomes a BM starter

Roldan, McKennie, and the other CMs would benefit from the inclusion of a '10' in the central midfield. Berhalter's idea of relying on a deep-lying playmaker and 'The System' is not working.

You are beginning to make less and less sense. Why does the score matter when talking of Brooks performance?

Brooks was not involved in any of those goals. He was in a good postion on the second for the runner who pulled up to the penalty spot. It was the other CB who let that attacker run by him. In our most recent game, it was Long who lost Davies on the back post.

Wtf! Morales was healthy. He came off the bench in the game right before the break.

Why is a 4th string DM on this roster?

How was Nagbe to blame for the Toronto goals?

This is some of stupidest analysis I have ever seen. What teams have we beat with Long on the field? Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guyana, Trinidad, Curacao, and Jamaica. It is shocking that we beat those teams at home.

Brooks doesnt allow goal, the team does. Brooks has made his fair share of mistakes, but has also improved. These averages are just dumb.

Long is all hype. He has been very poor this year cost us a ton of goals against any halfway decent team.

You tell me. I was asking 11b. Basically you wind back the goal to the turn-over of possession and watch Nagbe's role on the play. If you want to assign blame, get a lawyer and go to equity court.

You realize that Long was playing in the USL in 2015. You might recall that the 2015 GC was a very experimental lineup or that the team in general struggled. You might have forgot that he didnt play in one of those losses, which technically a tie.
