I also feel Phil Jackson was a mediocre coach, sometimes they get lucky by circumstances, aka the best talent.

Yes, she was! I don't give a ____ if she won the World Cup. She could have given a very good defender who is still young enough to go to an Olympics, and at least another WC, to get the experience.

What did the USWNT gain by putting Krieger on the team in the long run? Nothing!

And did you see her double over in the NWSL Championship game and go to the ground? Were you there? I was. She was sick the whole game.

Oh really? and Krieger would have done better? Give me a break.

There will be no way Krieger makes the Olympic roster or next WWC roster.

They won in spite of Jill Ellis.

Yeah, I think Krieger would have been better. Did you see the World Cup?

You could have put a cut-out poster of Phil Jackson as Coach and the Bulls would have won Championships with Michael Jordan.

How odd then that they did not before Jackson got there.

Meanwhile he was winning three in a row in the Continental league with casts that was losing some players to ten day nba contracts every week or two...

The USWNT doesn't win the 2019 WWC without her.
I'm still surprised she wasn't on the 2015 roster.

To that I would reply: who did Jill Ellis take to the World Cup: Krieger or Short?

I repeat: Short did not have a good game against Sweden. She was beaten several times down the flank and gave up several goal scoring opportunities to the Swedes. She was partially responsible for Sweden's first goal. Ally Wagner, the analyst, pointed out the obvious: Sweden was targeting Short's flank.

That was surprising to me. But perhaps the Swedes knew what they were doing?

She probably doesn't make the next rosters, but the benefit of Krieger in this past WWC roster was a player who could step in and play out the second half of a WWC final without breaking a sweat. I don't think Short could have done that, and I'm not dumping on Short. I'm a fan of hers, but she's a young player without a lot of experience.

But I don't get why we're narrowing in on Krieger here. Honestly, if someone told me today that I had to turn back the clock and put Short on the WWC roster and drop a player, I would drop Sonnett or Long (who both played minimal minutes in the WWC: the least of all the field players). I might even drop McDonald because did we really need that many forwards? In any case, Krieger would still make it.

Completely agree on Sonnett, her being on the team still is a mystery.
