What did you think of Wilton Sampaio’s (the ref) performance last night? Curious as to how you bosteros viewed it

Tough break for Kannemann who could miss the the CL final if they make it.

I didn't like it. I think the first disallowed goal merited more of a look than it got. Then there was the elbow in the box... But yeah overall he made a lot of calls opposite to what you would expect on both sides. It was a mess. The only thing I liked was him being adamant about them cleaning the field. That was a ridiculous amount of paper, lol.

No. He had picked a yellow card, which would’ve disqualified from the final. But they lost, and it doesn’t matter.

He was pretty bad in the match. Nothing like huge blunders but he missed an important tackle and didn’t mark his man for 2 out of the 5 goals.

OM v PSG has started. Icardi opens the scoring. Benedetto is also starting for OM.

That is 6 goals in 5 games for MI.

    Make that 2. 7 in 5.

Scaloni should be taking notes. As I said, Icardi needed to pick it up to be under consideration and he’s done so in leaps and bounds.

Ocampos scored again , that's his 5th goal in last 7 games as a winger. Dybala saves a point again for Juve . CR might be fuming inside, he actually tries to denied Dybala's winner in CL by signalling an offside:whistling: . Alerio and Nico also scores for Leverkusen and Ajax.

Great to see Icardi doing well , although I do expect him to easily hit 20 this season considering he's now playing in inferior league. Lets hope all these guys can avoid any injury prior to next year tournament. However, Di Maria seems to be doing really well as usual, perhaps the farmer's league has always been too easy. Let see if Scolani would still consider him yet again:rolleyes:

Yeah, I can't see him going to some mid-table Italian or Spanish side, which is another reason I think France is a logical entry point for him, since most of the top sides in other leagues either already have great managers or have too much at stake to really "gamble" with appointing him (the Gallardo to Barça rumors were unbelievable bunk); I'm honestly curious to see what he could do with PSG's infinite money.

    0-0 with Spain u17.

An even first half but we dominated the second. We pressed well forced Spain into errors and no chances aside from a late scare with Rojo Rios heading the ball away.

All the players look comfortable on the ball and kept possession very well. Some great long passes stretching the pitch side to side and some lovely bits of skill from Medina and Zeballos in particular.

Palacios was all over the pitch dropping deep very deep to pick up the ball at times but we looked unhurried and passed our way from the back. Any counters the team dropped in as a unit working from the front with some nice substitutions from Aimar to freshen the team in energy sapping conditions. Godoy took a knock to the foot and was replaced by Krilanovich. Placente also there providing sage advice.

Sole criticism was the poor shooting minus Palacios's outrageous first half effort as their keeper was very poor especially at corners.

Zeballos, Palacios, Luciano Vera and Bruno Amione stood out for me. In particular their complete nonchalance on the ball. They play with an air of real maturity already which sets them apart.

Medina and Fernandez outshone Sforza who was for me disappointing given the hype surrounding him. Sorry CC.

MOTM and needs to seize his chance. Lloris will be out for a while. We have an excellent group of keepers coming through at last. Musso looks a little out of sorts having let in seven the other day but that is a blip. Benitez needs his chance too.

Lamela again flatters. I'm very pleased by Scaloni's selections save Otamendi and Rojo who do not deserve to be near the team and it is time to give Balerdi and co their chance instead. Erik and Lanzini are too injury prone sad to say to be players who can be relied upon and play for a season any more to prove their worth.

Argentina currently has 3 or 4 goalkeepers playing at a high level in Europe: Benitez, Musso, Marchesin and Gazzaniga. It’s nice to have some quality in a position where depth has been paper thin for about a decade now.

Kun , Messi & Lautaro all scored again in midweek game. Kun actually has reached double digits. Messi assist to Suarez was outstanding.

Is Lisandro Martinez injured?? I don't see him in either list.

Except for some few names, I'm good with the list.

Guido Rodriguez too.. No idea why he keeps getting chances when he shows absolutely nothing every time he gets to play.

As for Nico Gonzalez, I just don't know if he's NT material, but tbh I'm not too acquainted with him. How did he do in the friendly vs. Ecuador?

Gio Simeone chip goal vs Bologna

Third goal of the season for cholito, who was coming from a month-long dry spell with Cagliari

    ———

In other news, Pity Martinez did his thing for Atlanta United in the MLS Eastern Conference Finals, providing an assist (his teammate just had to tap it in) and being on the receiving end of a foul that led to a penalty (which his teammate missed) all in the first 10 minutes of the match. His team, however, was later elimated by Toronto FC.

I know he was closely watched for the NT while he was on fire at River, atlhough he seems to have lost terrain after moving to the MLS and performing poorly in the Venezuela friendly. I wonder if Scaloni will have him in mind for the near future, although he seems to have already decided to on a team “base” long ago, so who knows.

I think it takes them about 2-3 minutes to design these. Simply putrid.

So the u17 beat Tajikistan 3-1 and will face Paraguay in the round of sixteen. Aimar made several changes resting Amione, Zeballos, Palacios and Godoy.

The team took some time to settle but when they did they controlled the match. They play a style similar to the senior team of the early 2000s. Passing around in triangles then changing the focus of attack and speeding up the tempo in the final third.

They exhausted Tajikstan and took the match with late goals. Velasco provided a superb cross for Orozco to head in. Cano had an effort ruled out for offside via VAR before Varaldo went close.

Aimar introduced Godoy and Palacios and Godoy set up Orozco for his second before Palacios produced an outrageous rabona pass to set up Godoy for the winner.

Tajikistans goal was pure fortune with Rustam running onto a ball deflected off one of the defenders and Rios bringing him down. Tajikistan also got away with some very nasty challenges.

Orozco was impressive but will be a sub for Zeballos but the player that came in and caught the eye was River Plates Tomas Lecanda. He showed great pace, comfort on the ball in carrying it forward and passing into midfield and coolness in evading the press and making tackles with ease and a couple of nice interceptions.

Nico is one for the future. It beats me why Guido is selected. Offers nothing at all. Need to dispense with Rojo and Otamendi as well. I am very pleased that Nicolas Dominguez has been brought in. Disappointed that Ajax are refusing Lisandro Martinez joining the u23. Scaloni needs to bring him and Romero into the senior side ASAP.

Get them settled in and give them experience. Perez too. Post Copa they need to become foundations at the back for the WC in 2022.
