0 Saturday 2 November 2019 Ashburton Grove USA TV: CNBC 11am ET I guess it's only fitting that I start this thread, given that the last MD thread I started was the last time we played Wolves in April, which ended in a 3-1 defeat. If I’m still on duty after a midweek trip to Portugal, I’d say that’s a mild accomplishment. If I’m still here after a trip to Leicester in a week then that would really be something. And I suppose it would prolong whatever "sack Emery" discussion Stan & Josh might be having. The big question on my mind is: WHICH Arsenal will show up tomorrow?! The one which played Liverpool toe-to-toe at Anfield in EFL Cup, or the one which blew a 2-0 lead at home against Palace in EPL? Seems to me we’d do well to transplant the style, tactics & perhaps some personnel from our cup team to our league team. But I won’t speculate on which players we’ll see tomorrow, except that to say: Xhaka won’t be one of them, as he’s out of the squad, while his future role at the club is a bit in doubt, after the brouhaha last Sunday. A wee bit too much drama at AFC these days me thinks.
Sadly I'm not confident for this match. After watching Emery preview presser he looks scared and under immense pressure. I feel in this situation he will play it conservatively and try to plod out a 1-0 win. We should be taking it to Wolves on the front foot, were at home and there are places we can exploit them. However I think this ends in a nervy draw. I'll be supporting them though because that is what I do.
This Edit: or... if you wanna dream... Emery learns a lesson from our cup forays... and Wolves lost their last match to... Villa.
Haven't watched the past few matches. I'm home, I'll be watching. Hope for the best, expect the worst. As always.
I really like this lineup, I guess Emery is into saving his job! The only thing I would hope for his Bellerin in as RB but I guess he is still recovering. Can't wait to see how Ozil plays... COYG!
Ozil subbed off for Pepe in the 5th minute. "I started him but we were being over run in midfield, had to make a change"
Some of us have been wanting for some time to see the Torreira + Guendouzi pairing, and today we have it. Hope they don't disappoint! So far it's all Wolves who are playing like the home team.
Luiz as had at least 4 vital blocks in our area, within the first 8 mins. Good work. But we need this tide to change!
He's always had too low a ceiling for me. The best I can hope for is that he doesn't get burned in our final third.
