Did not see that Hankinson was on a paid leave of absence. Nothing about him being done yet, but it could be that he’s done?
Fresno FC to play in 2020? Coach Adam Smith says it would take a ‘miracle’ “I don’t think there is going to be a next season. I’ll be honest,” he said. https://www.fresnobee.com/sports/article236713498.html Seems as grim as suspected.
Interesting news out of Charleston Update: Am hearing the Charleston Battery will change ownership this week. Current owner Eric Bowman sold MUSC Health Stadium earlier this year for more than $6m. Team will play at Patriots Point Stadium in Mount Pleasant in 2020.— Bob Williams (@WilliamsBob75) October 28, 2019
Sigh. MUSC Health (nee Blackbaud) Stadium and it's Three Lions Pub are one of the early treasures of the modern era of soccer history in the United States.
Official statement from Fresno FC: It's official. Fresno FC is done in Fresno. Full statement from owner Ray Beshoff. https://t.co/XroFPwt2yc pic.twitter.com/A8HkwSyfzW— Stephen Hicks (@StephenABC30) October 29, 2019 Done in Fresno, opportunity to relocate. Need a stadium, unavailable in Fresno.
Definitely. Between Fresno, Reno, and SRFC, there was a nice little Northern California plus Reno USL group. There is still talk of an East Bay USL team, and I supposed it's possible that SRFC will want an affiliated USL team once they join MLS. (Of course, the East Bay team may become SRFC's affiliate.) But generally I do think the USL should have a Central Valley presence, and Fresno really is the best prospect for that outside Sacramento. Like I said, it's too bad they couldn't work a stadium deal in Fresno.
Given the fact that USL would like there to be an even number of teams for scheduling purposes (probably), it'll depend on the situation with Ottawa and any MLS2 clubs. They know Nashville is leaving next year to MLS, so if they have an odd number of teams, they'll likely have them prop up in a temporary spot elsewhere while they figure out a permanent location.

Game over for Ottawa Fury. Their sanction was denied by the CSA and CONCACAF according to sources. They won't be in USL in 2020 News on Ottawa Fury confirming sanctioning issues https://t.co/FQBrkldAob— Alex Rupert (@alexanderupert) November 7, 2019
