But, wouldn't you rather try to make as much money as you can while you're building a stadium as opposed to just sitting around, twiddling your thumbs, hoping the stadium just magically builds itself? The long term strategy is to eventually control your own stadium, but inactivity means no revenue whatsoever and reduction in recognition in the community.
Financially, their best bet would be to stay amateur. They're playing now, I'm not sure how squatting in a more expensive stadium to be able put "now 100% more professional" on the end their name is a better idea. Honestly, they are far better off being patient and not trying to rush anything. They have no competition, so it makes no sense not to wait until they feel they can do it most effectively.
It also means you're not bleeding money like 90% of the rest of lower division soccer in this country. I mean, you say things that make me think you assume everyone is making money if they're playing.
It's also worth noting that Armada will be playing in an NPSL without Miami FC and Cosmos next year (as well as all of the other teams that moved up to pro leagues). This is probably their best shot at making a playoff run.
Still find it odd these championship games will be at neutral sites. For Immediate Release: NISA Announces East Coast Championship Details pic.twitter.com/y33bYD4gST— NISA Official (@NISALeague) October 24, 2019
Miami FC has clinched 1st place in the East will be in the game and hosting. How is that a neutral site? I don't think they have announced the Western championship game site. It might also be at the team with the best record.
I think they where supposed to. Heard the final of the East was going to be at the Fury’s stadium up until the team went under.
This was almost certainly so every team didn't have to reserve a stadium for a game they may not host.
I mean it’ll be interesting in the west if it does end up being a neutral site. I could see 1904 in particular having scheduling issues at home.
What will be interesting to see is how many of these teams that do well stay in NISA or try to jump to the more stable USL
Without bothering to address the "mOrE sTAblE uSL" claim, the clubs that are the most organizationally coherent in NISA are the least likely to be interested in USL.
Well and the least able to. Most of NISA’s current teams can’t jump to USL due to a USL team already being in their city. NISA was literally their only choice.
If Oakland is for real, they may be forced there. (We'll see on the supposed East Bay USL team.) Chattanooga obviously has animus and no interest. Detroit could be forced there. Everybody else, pfft.
Obviously, if NISA folds, that changes the algebra, but, yeah, CFC is certainly in the worst position here, since even if CRW is no longer a thing by that point, lots of bridges have been burned.
I mean the Roots would have to partner with East Bay if anything since they have territorial rights to Oakland. But given the response to them the East Bay owner would be a fool not to partner. Detroit too seems appealing. I’d say CFC is no worse off than most of the rest. 1904 have already been rejected by USL and then superseded by a better organization in San Diego. Stumptown, Atlanta, Philly, Cal United and LA Force set up shop in an existing USL team’s market in all cases (and LA doesn’t play in anywhere near a USL minimum stadium to add insult to injury).
It's never easy to go from amateur to pro. They seem more suited than most but it is still a challenge. But their animosity toward USL may preclude them from having an obvious home if the NISA fails. (League Zero? Nah.)
I mean it wasn’t really meant to. I don’t see much about NISA outside Oakland to have any confidence in.

The location is "in Southern California at Championship Stadium." Do they expect people in general to know where that is?
