Hopefully he Stays in Lille during the next international break in two weeks. I would hate to see the Canadians do a hack job on him and re-injure him.
I would literally be shocked if he played during the Intl Break. The club must be telling him to get ready to return to league play.
Some golf, some do soccer. Since it's all about deferring duties, these days presidents and prime ministers have the time to go on Twitter (ex.: Trump) or even visit chat rooms (ex.: Zelensky), spend long weekends in resorts (ex.:Conte), and even disappear for a week during a hunting expedition (ex.: Putin). So, there's time.
Maybe he took lessons from Agent Orange. Though in that case, he should be riding in a golf cart to save energy.
One has to be prepared for the possibility that Weah will be out until after the winter break. The reports on his injury make it sound really bad.... hamstring injuries can be tricky and GB called it a "very bad hamstring tear": https://sports.yahoo.com/usmnt-coac...-has-a-very-bad-hamstring-tear-023208834.html Yet another USMNT talent missing crucial development time due to injury. Sometimes I don't know why I even bother...?
I thought you were gonna tell us Tim was spotted at a Liberian NT practice. President George Weah trained the National Team today ahead of their AFCON qualifier. Nice but I think H.E is overdoing it. Should put a big part of his football interest aside and focus on governance. Liberia needs more than just president playing football.— Sami (@adedejisampson) October 15, 2019
People need to lighten up. If you can't run a short-sided attacking drill, how you gonna run a country?
I think defense is more important than offense/attack for a country. That's why you have never heard of a Department of Offense.
Liberia is a deeply troubled country that elected him because of name recognition, so there is zero chance he will be able to ameliorate their innumerable problems. So it really doesn't matter much what he does. It's not going to solve the dozens of rebel groups, rampant governmental corruption, lack of water/electricity, etc.
It's not called the department of offense because you can't make people paranoid enough to think it's OK to spend trillions on offense.
It's an euphemism. Like calling "Homeland Security" that instead of "Domestic Espionage." Or calling an asset on foreign soil an "attached diplomat" instead of what he is, a spy. Or one calling mercenaries "war contractors" and robots trained to blow up people "autonomous security device" and torture "enhanced interrogation techniques." The world is full of euphemisms, so we can have the illusion that things are done, well, politely.
Yeah - to be clear, the first post was a quip, and I have some experience with Liberians affected by Liberian violence and I did not intend this thread to go there - it is not a place for levity. I hope Weah the younger gets back to playing again soon.
