Okay, so I am guessing that is supposed to be the Lockhart complex? I don’t know why it says MW 12th instead of NW. If so it looks like they are changing the orientation of the field to north-south instead of the previous east-west.
Construction at Lockhart is moving at a rapid pace! Locker rooms and internal facilities are already going up just a week after the grid lines were set. Full speed ahead to March 2020!
The Siege Supporters Club @SiegeMiami New photos from the #InterMiamiCF Lockhart construction site. The parking lot at New Lockhart is being paved! Can’t wait to tailgate there!
This might be a stupid question, but was the parking lot at Lockhart ever paved? Back in my day it was gravel, but that was fortyish years ago.
“We’ll be ready to be home," @Jorge__Mas Mas said. "I’m anticipating that maybe our 1st or 2nd game will be away, I’m anticipating that we’ll be opening in mid-latter March for our home opener. We’re targeting finishing the FTL stadium on 2/15.” #InterMiamiCF
Looks like they’ll be stuck in Fort Lauderdale for awhile. Breaking tonight: Two @CityofMiami commissioners have filed a resolution which would direct the City to STOP negotiations w/@InterMiamiCF to build a stadium (& other developments) at Melreese Golf Course, & open up the land for other developments projects (RFP). #InterMiami #MLS pic.twitter.com/I8xQuvWL68— Miki Turner (@turneresq) October 16, 2019
I think Beckham & Co. should just stick with the New Lockhart and forget about Miami. The new old stadium in Ft. Lauderdale will look great! Go Strikers!
Yeah but that can change. How many times has his Miami stadium deal come and gone since 2013 and what will MLS do after Beckham starts and has a team in place after 3-4 years? I doubt they will fold or move the team especially if they are successful.
Are the 2 commissioners now against the stadium just posturing ahead of the upcoming elections? How many are up for a new term this year? Any chance of turnover? If someone local could fill the rest of us in, that would be nice.
Would be a weird move if they are doing this for votes as the public voted in favor of the stadium going on the golf course land. I think it was pretty large majority too but could be wrong.
Are they elected at large or do they have districts? If the latter, their constituents may not have voted for the stadium.
Looking good. I read on the boards Garber is pretty upset about Miami pulling out. What happens if they never get it done there? Will Beckham stay in Ft Lauderdale?
He might not have a choice honestly. If they can't get the stadium built in Miami proper than Lockhart might be the only option until they can bribe enough politicians.
feel sorry for Miami fans but I love seeing that little bitch Garber whine when a city won’t let him bully it.
