I wonder why he has only 8 apps and plays for PSV's bench. Oh right because hes a garbage braindead player who could barely even hack it in the turkish league

I dont remember who said it but i remember a few on here claiming Guerreiro is world class. HE needs to stop playing. I would rather even Antunes play at lb. I thought Mario Rui was doing a pretty decent job there when Guerreiro was out injured.

The only solace i can take from this is knowing that i will see many more Sporting losses this season.

Guerreiro was great, he isn't anymore. Santos, like Solari, keeps the faith a bit too much. After a while, it just becomes unfair on the alternative.

Mario Rui left and Cancelo right for me.

Sporting fans hating on Felix is downright pathological.

Guess you forgot the opening goal in the semis vs Holland, or the electric performance vs Spain. Or the cameo vs Russia where he played so well in 15 minutes that Scolari had no choice but to start him from then on.

I'm not going to talk about individual players or how they have performed...it's been discussed at length to the point where I could predict all the argument's I'd see on here the second the starting 11 was known.

At the end of the day I think one thing is clear: Santos and his time with this team has come to an end. He plays far too restrictive and timid with the talent now at his disposal, struggles to get the team to play fluid soccer ( our game plan is simple, cross the ball in after moving the ball slowly in midfield), and he will ruin our best generation of players (both current and upcoming with Leao/Florentino/ etc etc) in a long long time.

That starting line up was shameful, his tactics and what I firmly believe is the way he wants his team set out to play is so poor compared to what we have available, and his choices in an attempt to change a game are almost always poor. It worked 3/4 years ago, but it wont work now. That was a once in a lifetime tournament, and our squad is too different. For the better thankfully ( despite Gurreiro not being as good as a LB and our CB's being weaker)

We need someone more positive, more forward thinking, more astute, and someone who can instill some vigor and passion in our play. We were so lethargic even when 2-0 down, only Ronaldo, Pepe, and Bernardo showed any sort of urgency.

I'll just say this about Gurreiro...he's had a injury plagued few years and this is his first season where he has been healthy from the start. I'm willing to give him another opportunity simply because if he regains form (and hes more than young enough) he is a top LB.

    Thats just my opinion

Cool. So let's take that goal away.

Still has more that your fuckboy, Felix. Hit me up when Felix can score at 19 years old against one of the world's best teams in a major tournament.

Way to skip over the point of my post.

    Welp, there goes your credibility.

Might as well bring back Coentrao or Duda.

But agree, that should be the last game we ever see from Guerreiro

GoodDead isn't a Sporting fan. And it's not hating on him. It's admitting the dude is an overhyped tweener, just like Sanches was. Now where's Sanches and all his dick-riding Lampiao douchebags at?

In eight of the 10 games played so far, he has failed to finish the 90 minutes. Yea, he's a BEAST. :ROFLMAO:

Guerreiro was one of the players of the tournament in 2016, but clearly hasn't evolved since then and the injuries have stunted his progression. He was a total liability at the World Cup. Would be ideal if Cancelo can find his groove at Man City at left back, though Santos would probably stick with Guerreiro.

That said, we were just all round awful today. Typical Portugal performance. Lots of ineffectual possession, soft at the back and no cutting edge. What irked me was how few players would ever gamble and get into the box. We had a decent chance near the end where the ball flew across the goal line and had anyone gambled they would have had a tap in.

I hope Fernando Santos steps down no matter what happens in the Euro. He has done a great job, but we need someone who can take this promising generation forward and he doesn't appear to be the man. Players like Felix clearly need more coaching if they are going to develop with the NT.

    I agree Santos time
    Has come. Portugal
    Should change managers.

I recommend bringing Scolari back, or hiring Pedro Caixinha.

From what I've heard in the past, Raphael does not keep himself in good physical shape (working out and eating right,) hence why he has received those injuries.

They need to S#ck some serious d#ck and bring Jose Mourinho as the coach. Unfortunately that won't happen until Ronaldo leaves. I love Scolari, but his time is done.

I rewatched the game in slow motion this morning as part of my tactical review.

To be honest, we did not play that bad. The killer was allowing the second goal with terrible defending from Guerreiro.

I also gotta say, one of the main reasons why we underperformed was because of Williams absence. When he plays, the whole Portugal side seems to play much better as he controls the lines between the defence and midfield.

Bruma was actually quite good when he came in. I also think Guedes should have remained on the field. It was clear that we lacked greater presence inside the opponents area. Imo the correct sub would have been Removing moutinho for Andre Silva and playing 4-4-2 with Ronaldo and AS9 in the box .

I’ve been watching Felix closely and I really think he lacks motivation for the national side . He seems to barely run or put any pressure. I’m thinking he was serious about his comment that he would rather win a champions league with Madrid than a World Cup title with Portugal.

Against Lithuania in our next game, assuming William is healthy, I would go with

    —Semedo——Pepe—-Dias—-Ricardo
    —————William—Neves———
    ————Bernardo—-Fernandes
    ———Guedes ——-—CR7

I would not call up Felix again. He needs to be sent a message that when you play for Portugal you need to give 100 percent. I would recommend calling up Rafael Leao in his place ..

Yes i would rather have Coentrao than Guerreiro. Also Antunes was the starting lb on the 5th place La Liga team last season. Guerreiro has been a bench player for almost his whole Dortmund career

I’m really disappointed in Joao Felix. I know he is young, and I know that some of you guys want him to keep playing for the NT so he can develop into that world class player that you guys believe he can become, but I just don’t see it. I really hope he proves me wrong.
