I've been a big fan of Michy and his goals. I think he has a lot to offer but his relationship with various managers always befuddled me. I think he's really immature, but he also gets called into the Belgium side. As average as I think Roberto Martinez is, I don't think he'd call Michy into these short camps if he thought he'd be a distraction. I think Michy is a really good player. Turned 26 last week so this is his prime. Re-sign for 3 years, if possible. (I also think we should hold on to Giroud; I don't think he really fits Lampard's pressing, active style, but he is a striker with quality. His deal runs out at the end of the season. I think we'll let him walk at the end and not sell him in January.)
Other than at Dortmund or clubs pre-Chelsea, he’s never been given anything other than a bit part role, often relegated to the bench in favor of Eden at striker when it seemed certain it was his time to step up. Don’t think it’s his fault either, just not what whatever manager wanted at the time. Always liked his attitude and his character. His goal on Sunday was the finest of the lot. Hope to see more of him.
Transfer speculation is transfer speculation. IF you had asked me in the summer what was going to happen once we could buy players again I would have said we need to buy at least two strikers, sell batsman, loan out Tammy and keep Giroud as our no.3. Now I would keep Tammy, but I think we still need to sign that world class striker. Mbappe maybe? I wonder if Rashford fancies moving out of that Old Trafford quagmire of mediocrity? I know Cavani is available on a free at the end of the season. I guess we don't have to decide now, but options and upgrades always a possibility.
rashford is showing he has a long way to go at striker yet, though he's an extremely talented player. it's also not incredibly fair to judge him right now with how disconnected that team is playing right now. think i'd rather have Martial personally. neither will be sold to us.
well, that’s lingard in fairness. But in what world does it make any sense to buy young players from Manchester United? Lol.
lol I love it when you start a match thread and I had already started one. To watch someone who willfully does not comprehend any context is delightful to observe. The pairing is you and a very LARGE bottle of moron.
So, that is a big NO to Rashford then. lol Maybe we should buy Pogba instead? If United players fancy playing in the Champions League, they are going to have to move to different clubs.
Controversial suggestion, but. . . How about we give Dortmund back Pulisic and a pile of cash and take Jadon Sancho?
Chelsea favourites to sign Ben Chillwell. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...elsea-lead-chase-Leicesters-Ben-Chilwell.html
Why so? I mean, I do think we can do better than Alonso, but he's not really all that bad. On the fence with Emerson, don't think he's had a real chance yet to shine. Now, Chillwell, 23 isn't he?, looks better than both of them. I'd have to really watch him more to get a better view of how he would fit into the play out of the back, take the back line high and overlap when possible, that Lampard seems intent on playing. Can't give a definitive answer on that, but would say he's going to be better than Alonso, who whilst a wonderful wingback, isn't actually a great fullback. But, why "quite bad"?
We’d be paying a ludicrous sum of money for a marginal upgrade. In a vacuum Chilwell is a decent player, but he’s not great and Leicester would demand a huge amount of money (as they did for Maguire and Mahrez) because they don’t need to sell. On top of that he’d command a premium for being English, and we’re fine on that front. What’s the point of building up a huge war chest if we’re going to waste it like this? We can buy better left backs for much less.
