On the other side of that coin i don’t think many people can say that they were actively sacked by three big clubs because the teams ( that he mostly built) and the football was pretty dire, either, that balances the “he is the best” scales somewhat, that 3rd season madness weighs him down

Ancellotti was sacked by 4 (Juventus, Chelsea, Madrid, Bayern), and was pretty much 5 if you include Milan that pretty much forced him to quit.

The more you work, the more this is a reality.

No one is calling him the best are they? At least I don’t think so

There's definitely some middle ground here between die-hards and pure detestors. I think he flips out for some reason at some point in his 2nd or 3rd season with every club that makes people wonder WTF. I also think he's a perfectionist and a control-freak with a bit of narcissism. All understandable at the elite level - no one's perfect. I think the relationships he's built (fortress mentality, the club must abide by my transfer requirements, everything is done my way) with above and below make for a difficult pill to swallow. What he did at Madrid was great (challenging Barca for Liga titles, semi-final CL appearances when we had none since 2003) but was heavily diluted by making everyone hate us. That is why I say 7/10. The aftermath of the clubs when he leaves often causes a lot of fallout and problems, especially when he doesn't get his way.

Who knows that if they would've signed a CF and a CB that United wouldn't be doing much better? He deserves the benefit of the doubt here, especially if there's a likelihood that he comes back regardless of what we say.

No manager can excel without the right situation. Mou has been finding it hard to get into the right situation these past few years, even with United. Either because of poor backing by the board or insurgent players who feel mistreated.

We have seen that Mou given a bidget similar to Pep doesn't pull off what Pep does. So he needs to find a different situation where he's more suited to. Somebody who's out of work can't possibly be the best manager in the game at the moment.

Yeah, but that in itself is hard to really pin down to. If you say it's Guardiola some people will tear him down, if you say it's Klopp, then he doesn't have Pep's record.

Personally I think Guardiola is leading right now, but many people strongly disagree.

It's hard to say who the best coach is, because it really becomes a matter of opinion from a certain point on.

This, and I think this about all aspects of “the best” when it comes to football, whether it’s about coaches , players or teams,

We might not be able to say for certain who is the best coach currently, I will wager a bulk of respondents will say Klopp or Pep

But there are some names who won't make it into consideration unless you are trolling. Mourinho being one of them, Wenger being another

You cannot be the best coach from Skysport studios with Gary Neville, Thiery Henry and Paul Scholes

Mou has the talent to manage. His ideas are however a bit washed up. He also isn’t the best at picking players for his team. Having said this, he is def a HoF for his past accomplishments and he is currently ONE of the best managers around.

I don’t his he has to be managing to still be considered one of the best around, just like a painter doesnt have to be in the middle of a painting for me to consider him one of the best around.

He is without a doubt still a very revelant figure, and won’t just fade out in the next two years. Any top team who gets him will have higher expectations because of him.

Is he the best at this moment. Obviously not. The best is usually the CL winner and considering Liverpool only fell to city by one point in the prem, with like half the budget over the last 3/4 years, I would say Klopp is the easy choice.

Top Mou vs Top Klopp, it’s mou every time, and that goes for most managers measuring up to Mou.

Agreed, except that his ideas are washed up. Defending deep with lethal counters is more effective now than ever

I am english and am sick of hearing about Foden. I have genuinely never heard a player hyped like this. It must have been 3 years of non stop hype around this kid yet he rarely ever even gets on the pitch. I have questioned at times whether he is actually real, or if he is made up as some weird marketing tool by City.

Had a good under 17's tournament more than 2 years ago. Nothing since. It's quite baffling where the hype comes from tbh.

Because there's a whole cult of Pep followers who think his farts are air freshener and that he's solved world hunger whenever he gets up from dinner and bread crumbs fall to the floor.

What about the Chelsea kid who got a massive contract without even playing 2 consecutive games for them yet.

I do have memory that during his days in Barcelona, they were committing lots of fouls that weren't called and opponent's would regularly loose the ball for smaller contacts and cleaner tackles.

I agree with the sentiment, but “3 years of non stop hype” is ridiculous. A year and half ago I heard about the guy, maybe?

In England we always have this. It’s par for the course. Why do you take issue with Foden over all the others?
