Wow, we've played a good 2-3 minutes stretch...

Good game reading by Scaloni. Credit where credit is due.

Alario was good. Last 15 minutes pressing was great.

Alario was splendid. Acuna, De Paul good as well.

Dybala spineless again in a big match.

Nice fighting spirit - we could have won the game at the end.

We were missing Zaracho and Palacios in the mid, too.

Scaloni got his subs right and credit to him. We could’ve won the game, which tells you It really was a tale of two halves. Alario and Ocampos came through.

For those who missed the game, skip the first half.

I guess we can conclude that Rojo and Otamendi should stop being called up? Problem is we already had this conclusion before the game even started but there are some positives to take out of the 3-4-3.

Genuinely staggering that Rojo got called up, he does not play any football at club level. And even when he does he's rubbish.

Our defense still has a ton of work. We need to fix that. Please, try a younger core. If we fail, we fail but we at least tried.

As for the attack. We began to press and jumped on Germany’s mistake the same way they jumped on ours.

Both Lautaro and Dybala were lost. Neither one could do anything because neither one was getting any proper service. Pereyra was at major fault for that. Paredes as well. But regardless, i hope this is a positive step. You see how much it meant for the youngsters.

Marchesin was good, but I still want to give Benitez and Musso a chance. Musso in particular has a very high ceiling.

I do not ever want to see Rojo play again. There are just so many talented young defenders who are better than him (Romero, Balerdi, Martinez Quarta, Lisandro Martinez, Foyth).

Foyth was very good at right back. I like him better in that position than centerback. He’s a natural at attacking and going forward.

De Paul was great and has quickly become one of the undroppable players. He just does so much for the team. He runs for days, he be good technical ability, he makes smart passes, he can shoot from distance.

Paredes was terrible in the first half but excellent in the second.

Pereyra is too limited to play as an attacking player. He should not play any further forward than box to box midfielder.

Alario was phenomenal. He was so dangerous every time he got the ball. He pressed very well, he linked up with his teammates. It was like watching peak Lewandowski.

Dybala and Martinez were a bit disappointing but not that bad. They had no service in the first half.

Acuna I have been critical of him in the past, but he was good today. He is a useful squad player but not starting material.

    Correa? Meh

We are much better when we take the initiative and press, and play more directly. Stop trying to be pretty. Just go right at teams and be aggressive. The slow buildup and knocking the ball around should be used as a way to ice matches, not to try and score with. Alario was great and deserves more looks. No more Otamendi and Rojo please.

Pretty entertaining match , coming back from 2 goals behind against Germany is never easy even in friendlies .

As expected Rojo won worst man of the match award and should go straight to retirement. Both Otamendi & Rojo are B-sides material at their club, how the fck they could earn starting place in NT?

Lautaro & Dybala might be disappointing but they just had a tough match few days ago where they both scored. Parades looked bad again, Foyth was good. The way Correa play, he's pretty much Di Maria with less skill. Overall I dont think the players really had any focus for this game , considering the schedule.

Germany second goal was another goal where opponent just put a simple low cross followed by tap in. I dont understand how keep conceiding this kind of goal.

couldn't watch the game due to work. How did Saravia do after he came on? Not surprised that the players who usually do well did well in this game and the players who have no business in the squad did bad.

Still don't understand why we keep on insisting with Rojo and Otamendi.

He did fine, he gave the side much-needed speed. He recovered a ball, which almost led to us tieing the game a bit earlier.

Olé gave him a 6 rating,

    Alario got an 8,
    Ocampos-7
    Acuña-7

    Marschesin 6.5

    Foyth 6

    RDP- 6

Paredes 5.5(Personally, would've gotten something much lower if he didn't have a better second-half)

Lautaro got a 5- He fought for every ball, he never gives up.

Dybala-4- A poor match. Perhaps he needs that Messi and Kun link that we saw him have v Chile in the third-place match.

Nico-4- He ball watched for the second goal, instead of helping Rojo and left his side of the field exposed.

Pereyra-4- I think enough has been said about him.

    Otamendi-5 that is a surprise.

Correa got a whopping 3- He was seriously really bad. Perhaps this is why Cholo doesn't rely on him for every single game. As mentioned, a headless chicken but without that immense talent.

Rojo the same(3) and that was probably generous.

    ----

I think Alario comes out as a bigger winner tonight. Scaloni has been looking for a more traditional 9, and since Icardi was utter crap from the start of the year, but has finally picked it up recently, he may be given a more serious look. Unless Icardi begins to score in bundles then Alario will earn more calls.

The biggest loser is Rojo and let's thank our lucky stars that it happened. What an absolute muerto. Dude tries to nutmeg the defender as he is going out of bounds only for him to left for dead and start a German counter and score.

Next match v Ecuador this Sunday.

Only got to watch extended highlights but it seems that once again Acuna showed his value, and it's interesting that Scaloni switched to a 3-4-3 for the second half like Bielsa would often line up.

Would have liked to see Lamela and Kannemann play. Still undefeated against Germany...in friendlies.

Kannemann has the second-leg of the CL coming up for Grêmio and I will be surprised if he plays v Ecuador.

I have mixed feelings on Paredes. On one hand, he’s lazy and defensively a liability. On the other hand, his forward passing is so crisp and helps this team open up so many opportunities, as we saw in the second half. Paredes is far more creative than Biglia ever was, for example.

In an ideal world, we need a 6 with the passing of Paredes combined with the heart and energy of Ascacibar. I do not know if such an Argentinian player exists. I’ve never seen Dominguez play before but I have heard good things.

Also, it’s unfair on Otamendi to lump him in the same category as Rojo.

Rojo is a clown. Otamendi is a good defender, not top class but he is good.

What was the point of calling him up then? If he's going to do all that traveling, he might as well get some minutes

Otamendi has regressed a lot. Still way better than Rojo but not good enough to trust him against the best teams, imo.

    More bad news.

I wouldn't mind having Otamendi as a squad player in the Copa 2020, but I also wouldn't trust him in the big games. Plus, I don't see him in the WC 22, so for me it would better to work with the CBs who are more likely to play for the NT in 2022.
