I love his thinly veiled shot at Zardes and I fully acknowledge that's just me being petty. I also worry that he will not play tonight because of it despite the fact that he might be (probably is) our best midfielder available tonight.

I've gone back and watched a few FC Dallas games I had recorded. I like him for a lot of the same reasons I like Keaton Parks, he just brings something we don't have much of in our pool. Smooth on the ball and also tenacious. We seem to mostly have either/or in those regards.

I like Keaton Parks quite a bit.

If you want to possess the ball you have to have guys like that linking the lines.

I don't believe he came through FCD, but I believe that Keaton is also a Dallas product as well.

I'm sure. But you do understand that CEOs don't publicly belittle their product except in rare, extremely planned circumstances (such as the recent Domino's campaign)?

I doubt Garber knows the nitty gritty of shooting technique or something like that, but he's going to know his products' quality in relation to the rest of his competitors.

He's just not going to come out and say it.

Yeah, I read a story a while back that he played for a Portuguese coach at a smaller club in Dallas which is what he credited with having a lot of the ball skills he has. Very interesting path, almost Dempsey-esque. I'm cheering for him. I'd throw Hyndman in the mix as another intriguing guy that has some of the things Gregg should be looking for in his midfielders but obviously still needs to round out his game. I think the move to Atlanta will be good for him and I wouldn't say that about most moves to MLS. Although with Parks having a nice impact at NYCFC maybe it is becoming more viable. Between Pomykal, those guys plus Holmes and Lletget we actually have some promising center midfielders that skew more in the attacking direction for the first time in a long time. Just need a few to hit...

Yea I see zero reason why Lletget and Roldan needed to each go 90. Why not run him out for at least 30ish minutes at CM.

He should have played about 15 minutes. That’s good for a debut.

    He played well. More please.

He went 90 too but Paxton should have got a run out at an 8 not the 6 or LW.

I don't know what Yueill played, but now GB will proudly say "I told you we should play Trapp, have you seen how useless the guy I put today was?"

I will say in the Mexico game I didn't even notice Trapp in the first half and Yueill I did notice. He seemed to do a lot of the same long passes as Bradley and Trapp but he did them quicker and also was able to move and dribble a bit to create space for those passes. Now, it's fair to point out there wasn't tons of pressure on him (and never let him take free kicks again). Of course I think Adams would be a big improvement on all three but he's in my consideration as Adams backup along with Morales. Need grit and steel take Morales. Need to break a bunker against weaklings take Yueill.

Oh, and I found myself wanting Pax to replace Roldan as he was hit and miss. Lletget had higher highs and lower lows so he could have replaced him also earlier.

This will put pressure on the young man to take a more prominent leadership role on his FCD team. It's entirely possible that a European team still purchases his contract. This is better than him remaining on his homegrown contract, but maybe not as good as him getting purchased by AC Milan. :D

I agree. After his success in 2019, I don't think it was ever likely that Pomykal would have played out his homegrown 100K a year deal. He wasn't going to just sit and wait 2 more years to transfer to Europe on a free for American fans on the Internet.

So even though I'm being a little provocative, I don't think much changes. If a European club thinks Pomykal is the next big thing, then they'll have to pay.

That's probably the way it should be.

This is a natural progression and FCD really deserves to be compensated for their player development.

I still think $4m gets him with a sell on fee. FCD protects itself and gets a fee. Pax gets paid, but neither side has closed the door on selling him in the future. He needs to prove he can stay healthy and in the lineup. Had he not struggled with that maybe he seriously considers going to Europe this summer.

Agree and am now thinking he wants to do Olypic qualifying and the Olympics and make a name for himself and get sold after that or after one more year.

interesting and I hope it’s true. What was your thought process behind picking $4m?

This story should help a few guys talk their parents into skipping/delaying college.

600K is the kind of money that folds.
