I’m sure they’ll be okay without fair-weather fans

    Don’t worry Mcskillz...I fully understand.
Your team isn’t bad, but I know you were expecting this loaded team to be a 1 loss or 1 tie team and win a natty. When that kind of team underachieves, hard core fans take it hard. I get it. But you guys will be ok, chin up

Somehow I think you guys will rebound from this.
As you well know, once you get in the tourney, all you do
    is win.
There is no team you cannot beat out there.

Yeah I over-reacted since I posted that as I was coming out of the stadium, so frustrated. I re-watched the match on video a few hours later and it's a little less frustrating but that counter-attack goal from Cal 3 minutes before the end of the second half still haunts me.

Also I do have expectations, perhaps unrealistic of this team usually winning all of their conference matches and getting a good seeding for the tourney like they usually do. Cal really secured a top national goalkeeper in Anderson, I could see Anderson getting looks on the Nat'l team in the near future.

Needless to say, I'll be seeing how Stanford and USC go with baited breath :sneaky:

Time for Amanda Cromwell to have her Bruins practice set pieces. Coming away with zero scoring threats on sixteen corner kicks against Cal was beyond pathetic.

If they come away with only a split against Arizona and ASU, I won’t be surprised.

:cry:Am I the only one that kinda misses Hailie Mace? I know it’s early still, but all signs point to us having an off season. I really hope not since this is Jessie Flemings last year with us

i think all signs point to a great season. Your young player are getting experience that can serve them well later in the year. Winning every game now means little. You have some of the best players in College on your team. What more can you ask for?

I wouldn't write this season off at all. Santa Clara was pissed beyond comprehension at how their season was going, they weren't going to lose another one that night no matter what. Cal had just lost their first of the year, unexpectedly to Portland. You are catching pretty good teams at the wrong time. And Pepperdine is just a royal pain, tied y'all twice, beat Stanford (I know, shots were 600-2, but the Waves won), and Santa Clara hasn't won in Malibu since I was in first grade and I'm 73.

Looking forward to the Buffs and Bruins in October 10. The old fat guy in the black Colorado Soccer hoodie will be me, come over and say Hi if you get a chance.

Starting tonight and extending to Sunday, UCLA will be without Teagan Micah, Rachel Lowe and, gulp, Jessie Fleming due to national team duties.

Perhaps Bruin pride will finally kick in so they won’t be stuck in the Pac-12 basement.

    Whoo-boy!

I repeat, WORST SEASON EVER. Hey Bruins, would be nice if we actually won a single freaking game this season? I don't know, I thought we were a top national team, looks like we are a bottom feeder this season.

    Hailie Mace, we miss you.

From Chris Henderson via Twitter: “With a 3-0 win, Arizona delivers UCLA's heaviest league defeat since the infamous 7-0 loss to Cal in 2015.”

That 2015 Bruin team finished 8-10-1 (4-6-1 in Pac-12, 8th). Looks like Amanda Cromwell has a chance to surpass herself this season.

Agreed. I’m always amazed how highly some talks of her. Their talent are always comparable with Stanford’s. Just compare her years at UCLA against Stanford. I’m not saying she is bad by any means, but she isn’t all that either

She was quite successful at mid-major UCF. So I think she has a track record of success.

What happened to Olivia Athens #14? I thought she was one of UCLA's best players last year, starting about 20 games. She's only played in 4 matches this year for a total of 140 minutes.

Athens is likely injured. Other key players out include Reyes, Pederson, Trevithick and Flynn. During the telecast of the Cal loss, two players were seen on crutches.

Get your 3 studs back, and things will get back to normal.

It's all about the post season.

It is about the post season for sure, but they clearly have much deeper issue than missing those three(which by the way Fleming is the only difference maker out of those three as the other two are no better/worse than anyone else on the team). They did lose 2 games and tied 1 before Arizona. That’s not looking good for a team that many thought was clear No. 1 team in the country going into the season
