I dont think this is entirely wrong, by any means, but I would like to point out that the thesis that creative business people look to found businesses in places where they can pocket the most money is challenged by California. Republicans who espouse that theory have since forever predicted that California's high tax rate would scare away new business formation, and obviously that has not happened.
He'll start with a rant against pencil neck Shiff and just go off the rails on several conspiracy theories after that.
I dunno.. Guiliani saying he can’t say anything due to lawyer-client privilege isn’t going to be very riveting... If he says anything else, he’s a bigger hack than anyone thinks..
Anyway, this is the impeachment thread, and hopefully these other issues we are discussing will become more relevant post-impeachment. As long as Donald Trump is in power, I think our other disagreements we may have take a back seat to the more immediate danger to our democratic institutions.
Most of these conversations are just vanilla diplomacy. Not shakedowns. And IIRC readouts are routinely available
We'll see. There is plenty of time to focus on the election, but obviously whatever happens between now and then regarding the effort by the House to impeach the president will be a huge factor, and at any rate, this is the topic of this thread - even though I'm one of the guilty parties in moving the discussion in other directions.
I think it’ll be hilarious when some smart Dem says, so you’re confessing to violating the Logan Act?
Guiliani + microphone is an explosive cocktail. He can't control himself. The dude would incriminate himself and everyone else.
The floodgates are open...... “Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was among administration officials who listened in on the July 25 phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a disclosure that ties the State Department more closely to the House impeachment inquiry,” the Wall Street Journalreports. “Mr. Pompeo’s participation on the call hasn’t been previously reported.”
Just to back up: So it looks like the President, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of State are all implicated in a criminal conspiracy?— Clara Jeffery (@ClaraJeffery) September 30, 2019 Remember, Senate Republicans; first-mover advantage. The 1st one to break the seal and break with a criminal psychotic President gets a lot more political benefit than the 25th.— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) September 30, 2019
More stories...... “Attorney General William Barr has held private meetings overseas with foreign intelligence officials seeking their help in a Justice Department inquiry that President Trump hopes will discredit U.S. intelligence agencies’ examination of Russian interference in the 2016 election,” the Washington Post reports. “Barr’s personal involvement is likely to stoke further criticism from Democrats pursuing impeachment that he is helping the Trump administration use executive branch powers to augment investigations aimed primarily at the president’s adversaries.”

MOD HARASSMENT AND COLLUSION!! Sorry mate - i thought we were still unmodded since Pete was away I have no issues. Just thought the guys could "self mod"
Yeah that stuff is more a convention The real problem with all of this stuff, both for the US and also UK, is that if you become a bad actor in international circles, then no one trusts you. So no one will say anything on calls with the US
No problem. And they can "self mod", for the most part. That's why I agreed to keep my salary down to only five figures
I like the no rules idea, but we do have a few. You've all been good - for the most part. And, it would be cool to have Trump post here. Or, I guess maybe good for a laugh. But he'd also have to go by the rules.
