Exactly...what is the reference? There are many with over 100 goals. Either way. Inevitably, he’ll be at Bayern
this is the Werner thread, makes sense that one would discuss his achievements, completely unrelated to others. So not sure what the issue is? If he hits 100 next season, that's an achievement for modern day German strikers since we have struggled massively to dev strikers. Vast majority of our recent/modern day strikers are below 100. So any who do so, it's a big accomplishment. he shouldn't go to Bayern, Lewa extended, no need for him to be back up choice. Doesn't help him or Germany.
I hope Werner improves a lot under Nagelsmann which I always wanted...still 31 games left this season to score another 22 goals
I made a typo, it's 32 away from 100 1BL goals and the 20 away from 100 pro career goals is fine. With 3 competitions he's hitting 100 pro career goals this season, very very likely. It's the 32 away in 1BL that seems more likely to be next season unless he scores like crazy. Would need to score 32 goals in 31 games, just to hit it this season. Scoring some more hat tricks could help that though. but yeah him under Nagelsmann, he's more likely to improve his game. Hes not doing that under Kovac.....
The German NT play an often incoherent possession game. While Leipzig play gegenpressing and direct counter attacking football. The other factor is that Werner doesn't have someone like Yussuf Poulsen on the NT as strike partner who provides a tall, physical presence on the pitch and create space for Werner.
Well Davie Selke was originally supposed to be the guy. But he hasn't shown career progression in years
Werner has issues being clinical in big games and moments. Already missed 2 big chances in the first half against Lyon
On the big stage, Werner shows the same issues that many German players have nowadays. Which is the inability to finish.
Werner scores solo to make it 1-0 vs 2nd place Wolfsburg, his 6th of the season. https://streamja.com/jyMV nice to shrug off the defender.
Werner to miss Leipzig's match vs Freiburg with hip problems http://www.fussballtransfers.com/nachricht/leipzig-ohne-werner-nach-freiburg_110383
From what I read, Nagelsmann was unhappy with Werner's poor showing in the first half and took him off.
Werner requires alot of space to flourish, in tight spaces and tactical games werner is best used from the bench
