Kai Havertz is set to decide on his future in the coming weeks. The player and his agents held negotiations with 7 clubs: Bayern, Barcelona, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid. Bayern & Barça are favourites [SportBild]

Bayer Leverkusen's asking price is of around €130m with the club open to different payment models. Bayern tried to get Havertz last summer with a bid of €90m upfront plus bonuses but Leverkusen rejected to sell

The occupation of the coaching position plays the most important role in Havertz's decision. Should Mauricio Pochettino become Bayern coach, it increases the chances of Havertz staying in the Bundesliga. Havertz is a fan of the intense style of the Argentine coach

I think it is a bad idea for Kai to move to LFC. Klopp's system relying on 3 hard working midfielder, he won't push any of Wijnaldum, Henderson, Fabinho out of starting XI. As for starting on front 3, looks unrealistic.

I said this long time ago, Havertz should be used as an option in “front 3” if not even as a CF

    he scored like 8 goals in the last 12 games last season playing as a right winger;

he looked out of place and average as a midfielder earlier this season.

Havertz’s his form started to pick up again once he is in final third and closer to the goal. He is a composed and precise scoring threat. He will give opponents more pressure when he’s in the final third and they won’t be able to go further up the pitch. As midfielder , that pulls him further away from opponent’s goal and final third, that doesn’t make sense.

Bosz used Havertz as CF twice, Havertz managed to score two goals and have one assist. Against Eintracht Frankfurt he even scored another disallowed goal n I think he was his best game all season. And those games were right before the Pandemic break

“Someone” saying Havertz playing as striker is ridiculous idea. I think someone just need to observe a player’s traits and strengths better. How to utilise his strengths and hide his weaknesses

it’s like you wouldn’t ask a Messi or Cristiano to play further away from final third and have less time in the penalty box.

Pretty obvious that Havertz plays better as CF than his early struggle as AM

Kai Havertz enjoys playing up front

    By Henrik PetersenToday 5:25

Kai Havertz says playing up front for Bayer Leverkusen has enabled him to become more of a goal threat.

The 20-year-old usually plays in midfield, but has impressed in the striking position in the absence of the injured Kevin Volland, finding the net five times in his last three Bundesliga games.

"I have a free role because I don't feel like I have to stay between the defenders," Havertz told Bundesliga.com when asked about his positional switch after he bagged a brace in Saturday's 3-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

"I can drop back into midfield, which has always been my game, so not a great deal has changed, other than me becoming even more dangerous in front of goal and needing to get into the penalty box more. That suits me very well," he added.

Havertz has scored 14 goals and made eight assists in 36 games for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

    I love Havert’s playing as a CF

he’s everywhere. He can drop deep and involve in build up play , while he can also get into the box and utilise his strengths in scoring

He is so composed and ice cold in front of goal. He can play in tight space and is an aerial threat

While , is he suited to play in midfielder or AM? I have my concern:

Nowadays all midfielders no matter 6, 8 or 10 needs to involve in defence. Havertz’s defence is a concern in midfield, this gives the other two midfielders extra pressure.

and when they are playing against three workhorses in midfield, Havert’s side will have problem in midfield battle

Our NT Play 3-4-3 formation and primarily with three centre backs, two wingbacks and 2 central midfielders.

Kroos, Gundogan, Emre Can, Kimmich, Brandt, Goretzka ... are all slightly ahead of Havertz In a 343 setup with 2 central midfielders (6 n 8)

but we only have Gnabry, Sané, Werner n Reus up front . I think Havertz will have more playing time as a forward

hopefully he can do it this year...he has 5 matches in hand...Volland was in bench today...hopefully starting match day 30 we will see him in the pitch that will help Havertz to add some assists in his tally as well

Havertz makes Bundesliga history as Leverkusen beat Freiburg

Kai Havertz became the first player in Bundesliga history to score 35 goals before turning 21 to help Bayer Leverkusen beat Freiburg 1-0 following the 29th round of matches.

head coach Peter Bosz was able to provide initial information about his protégé: "He's fine. I don't know exactly how bad it is, but it is okay," so Dutchman.

Hopefully ok for the next match day. Havertz and now Wirtz are the only reasons I bother to watch Leverkusen.

same for me, with Brandt (even Leno) gone and Volland injured there isn't much to bother.

Tah, Bender twins, Amiri, Bellarabi, Demirbay, Weiser don't put butts in seat, lol.

let's hope that Grill, Gedikli, Lore etc can breakthrough and that maybe Bayer poaches players from other clubs and do like a Wirtz. I mean Brandt was a Wolfsburg boy poached by Bayer.

I'm having a little trouble assessing Havertz as a player. What's the consensus opinion on Havertz' best position now as well as his best position once he enters his prime? Is it one and the same?

Kai Havertz will end up being courted by teams such as Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern, Manchester City, etc
